One of the most delightful and enduring books in the English language is Lewis Carroll’s remarkable fantasy of a girl named Alice, who chases a white rabbit down a hole and enters the mysterious world known as “Wonderland.” In this online slot game developed in 2010 by Ash Gaming, a Playtech company, the familiar characters of the story come to life on the reels, each of them more than happy to share their wealth with players who have the knack for getting the right spins.

The format for Alice’s Wonderland is 5 reels and 20 paylines. The number of lines to be played is input by clicking on the “Select Lines” button below the second and third reels. Alternatively, clicking on any of the line number flanking the first and fifth reels will put lines in play; else using the “Select 20 Lines” button below reels one and two will activate all of the lines. A display between the reels and the controls shows the “Total Lines” on the left.

The amount to be wagered per line can be selected by clicking on the “Stake Up” and “Stake Down” buttons below the third and forth reels. The minimum bet per line is €0.05 and the maximum is €10, making the largest total wager possible €200. The display between the reels and the controls shows the “Stake” per line and the “Total Stake” on the right. The game begins by clicking on “Play” on the bottom right of the control panel.

Winning combinations of 4X to 100X come from matching three or more card symbols, Tens through Aces. Higher awards are paid for matching the Caterpillar, Cheshire Cat or Tweedledee & Tweedledum symbols—from 30X to 1500X. Alice is the wild symbol, substituting for all symbols except Bonus and Scatter symbols. Catching 3, 4 or 5 wild Alices on an active payline pays 100X, 1000X or 10000X, respectively.

Whenever three Mad Hatter Bonus symbols appear in any position on reels one, three and five, the Tea Party Bonus is activated. A new screen appears with four characters seated at a table in the garden having tea poured from a floating white teapot while birds and butterflies pass by behind them. The player must select characters one by one to drink tea. The longer each one drinks, the more bonus cash is paid. Selecting guests to drink continues until all of them have sat out. However, keep an eye on the spoon in the sugar bowl. If it serves sugar to the guests, the Progressive Bonus is won.

A second bonus feature on Alice’s Wonderland relates to White Rabbit scatter symbol. Whenever three of the scatters appear, anywhere on reels two, four and five, the Freespins Scatter Bonus is triggered. The rabbit will hop out from the right side of the screen and look at his pocket watch. Each time the sweep hand stops on an hour, the corresponding number of free spins are awarded, from 7 to 20 in all. Then the rabbit hops around the reel position, causing from 3 to 5 “sticky wilds” to be set in place. These wilds are frozen throughout the free spins, which cannot be retriggered.

A third bonus feature of Alice’s Wonderland is the Rabbit Hole Scatter. On the third reel only, there is a glowing “Green Door” that leads to the Rabbit Hole. Anytime this symbol is displayed, the entire third reel will turn into an underground shat, through which Alice will fall, collecting prizes as she descends. Each prize is multiplied times the stake made for all lines. When Alice reaches the bottom of the Rabbit Hole, the bonus ends and all accumulated cash is added to the amount won on the original initiating spin.

Alice’s Wonderland has an Autoplay function, too. It is located under the fourth and fifth reels. Clicking on it allows select of from 5 to 25 automated spins. To stop Autoplay, click on the red button that flashes beneath the message display between the reels and the control panel.
