For those who love classic art, those who fancy precious gemstones or those who just like an exciting slot game, look no further than Da Vinci Diamonds. This creation of International Game Technology (IGT), which debuted in 2007, has been brought from the floors of casinos directly to computer screens, identical in almost every aspect to the hit game that put “Tumbling Reels” on the gaming map.

With a 5-reel, 20-payline format, Da Vinci Diamonds looks a lot like other slots. However, the Tumbling Reels feature truly sets it apart. The feature is triggered whenever a paytable-defined symbol combination appears on the reels. It can be triggered in either regular play or bonus game play. All winning symbol combinations are evaluated and values are added to the win meter. Then, all symbols in winning combinations disappear leaving empty spaces on the reels.

Immediately, all symbol positions on each reel are filled as symbols tumble from above, in sequence, to fill the empty spaces. The game screen is re-evaluated for symbols in winning combinations and values are added to the win meter. Only the highest line win is paid on each line played, then the feature re-triggers and it remains active until no paytable-defined symbol combinations are created as a result of the Tumbling Reels. A single spin could conceivably go on and on, paying out indefinitely.

Adding to the novelty of the reel action are the symbols that appear. A selection of valuable birth stones are represented in the main game by depictions of Garnet, Emerald and Ruby, worth from 10X to 100X for matching three or more on an active payline. In the Free Spins Bonus game, these are replaced by Amethyst, Sapphire, Topaz and Opal, valued at 10X to 200X.

Additional symbols on the reels are based upon masterpieces painted by the famous Italian artist Leonardo Da Vinci (1452~1519). In the main game, these are portraits of Cecilia Gallerani, musician Franchino Gaffurio and the famous Mona Lisa, yielding payouts from 20X to 1000X for three matches or more. In the Free Spins Bonus mode, the paintings that appear are the Angel from the Virgin of the Rocks, a portrait of St. Anne and the portrait known as La Belle Ferroniere. These paintings are Scatter symbols worth multipliers of 2X to 30X when three or more of the same art are displayed anywhere on the reels.

The highest paying symbol on the reels in the main game is the Da Vinci Diamonds Logo. It pays 100X, 500X or 5000x for 3, 4 or 5 matches, respectively. In the Free Spins Bonus, the top symbol is the Double Diamond worth 200X, 1000X or 5000X. There is also a Wild symbol that substitutes for any symbol except Scatters and the Bonus symbol.

When the Bonus symbol appears on reels 1, 2 and 3 on an active payline, it initiates the Free Spins Bonus worth six free spins. Additional free spins are awarded for catching the Bonus symbols again, with 2, 3 or 4 free spins added randomly for three Bonus symbols, from 4 to 10 extra free spins for four Bonus symbols, and from 6 to 15 more free spins for getting five Bonus symbols.

The wagering denominations allowed on Da Vinci Diamonds from £0.01 to £0.50. Up to five credits may be bet per line for a 100 credit maximum, or £50 in total. Although there is no Autoplay function available, the Tumbling Reels function automatically as do all plays during the Free Spins Bonus mode.
