In 2009, Betsoft Gaming introduced a number of new 3D video bonus slots online as part of their Slots-3 Series. Among them was “Enchanted,” a 5-reel, 30-payline game with a magical fairyland theme. Inn addition to excellent graphics and sound, it features four different exciting bonus games, two of which are interactive.

The reels of Enchanted spin within the confines of a magical forest, surrounded by old trees and greenery. Most of the game’s controls are located at the bottom of the screen. The coin denomination for the game can be selected by clicking directly on the “Choose Coin” indicator in the lower left corner, from €0.05 to €1.00. Directly below the second reel are two giant mushrooms marked “Bet Per Line” and “Select Lines.” By clicking directly on the mushrooms, it is possible to set the total Stake from 1 to 5 coins per line on 1~30 paylines up to a maximum of €150.

As soon as the Stake has been set, clicking on “Spin” below reel three or “Bet Max Spin” under reel four will set the reels in motion. Spirited fantasy music accompanies the spins, and for most of the winning combinations, the symbols animate with sound effects, too. The “Sound” on/off toggle in the upper left corner of the screen can be used to control the audio in the background.

The symbols displayed on Enchanted are representative of fairyland activities. They include Rings, Magic Wands, Goblets, Crystal Balls and Owls. These symbols pay out line multipliers from 50X to 2500X whenever three or more match up on an active payline. Greater awards can be gained by aligning two or more symbols for Tonk the Elf, Rufus the Ogre, Feera the fairy or Elrid the Wizard, from 10X to 25000X. Note that there are no wild symbols on the reels of Enchanted, but bonuses are abundant.

On the fifth reel only, sometimes a golden key will appear. When it does, Tonk the Elf will climb up the reels and collect it. When three keys have been collected, “Tonk’s Tinkering Doors Bonus” will be activated. The reels of the game will have a malfunction, causing lock to appear in place of 6~7 symbols. Clicking on a lock will summon Tonk to come make repairs. He will unlock the symbol and reveal a cash prize hidden inside. Click on up to three locks for a huge payout. During the normal slot game, a sign in the branches of the tree above the fourth reel keeps track of the number of keys collected.

Another special symbol appearing on the reels is the “Crazy Hat.” Anytime two or more Crazy Hat symbols appear in any position, the “Crazy Hat’s Crazy Reels Bonus” begins. All Crazy Hat icons are wild during this feature. The Crazy Hat will fly onto the screen, and respin a randomly chosen reel. The player collects any wins that occur after the reel has finished spinning. After three respins, the feature ends and all cash prizes collected are awarded.

One other special feature appearing on Enchanted is “Ultimate Spellbook Free Spins Bonus.” Whenever three or more Spellbook symbols are positioned on any active payline during the main slot game, this bonus is activated. Line wins pay at the usual odds during the free spins mode, but if a unique Enchanted symbol shows up in the middle position of the third reel, the Enchanted Spinner will appear and provide the opportunity for even more prizes. Note that no other features can be triggered during this bonus.

The fourth special feature of Enchanted is the “Save Feera’s Birdie Bonus Round.” It is launched when the Feera symbol appears on a reel with a Rufus symbol immediately to the right on the next reel. This side-by-side alignment opens a secondary screen showing a forest scene. The player must help Feera recover her pet birdie that Rufus has stolen. This is accomplished by clicking an “Attack” button to drop hearts on the Ogre while flying above his head.
