The Netherlands Antilles nation of Aruba is located in the South Caribbean, where it derives about three quarters of its gross national product from tourism or related activities. To cater to the demands of 1.4 million annual visitors, mostly from the Netherlands, Venezuela and the United States, the country has expanded its resort capacity beyond the capital city of Oranjestad, up the coast north to the region known as Palm Beach.

Gathered along the white sands of Palm Beach are no fewer than 24 hotels, three inns and 136 vacation rental properties. In 2009, a new shopping district was completed, and in 2013, TripAdvisor rated Eagle Beach, the area’s southernmost stretch of sand where nudity is allowed, as #9 among the top 25 beaches in the world.

All six of the casinos located at Palm Beach are housed within hotel-resorts. The largest and northernmost of these is the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, which features a 15,243-square-foot gaming space. Open 24 hours a day for play at its 500 gaming machines, the casino operates 27 table games between 2pm and 4am, including 3-Card Poker, 4-Card Poker, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let it Ride and Roulette. There is also a 275-seat Bingo room and a race and sports book on site. Other facilities available on site are eight restaurants, a swimming pool, tennis courts, a health club and spa, beach access, a whirlpool and sauna, and 411 guestrooms.

Immediately next door to the south is the 600-room Holiday Inn SunSpree Aruba Resort & Excelsior Casino, open 24 hours daily. The casino covers 14,000 square feet, containing 257 gaming machines and 23 table games that range from American Roulette, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let it Ride and Roulette to 21 Superbucks, 7-Card Stud Poker and Texas Hold’em. The property also features 220 Bingo room seats, a race and sports book, a swimming pool, a health club, lighted tennis courts, three restaurants and a bar.

The very next resort to the south along Palm Beach is the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort and Copa Cabana Casino, open daily from noon till 4am. With 12,000 square feet of gaming space, the casino features 285 gaming machines and 21 table games, including 3-Card Poker, American Roulette, Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps and Let it Ride. Also on the property are six restaurants, two bars, a health club, swimming pool, tennis courts and 360 guestrooms.

Adjacent to the Hyatt is the 390-room Occidental Grand Aruba. Its casino is open daily from noon until 3am, offering 200 gaming machines and 14 table games, from Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker and Craps to Let it Ride, Poker and Roulette. Other facilities include a 400-seat Bingo room, seven restaurants, two bars and a hotel with 390 rooms.

Continuing along the string of beachfront resorts, the Cool Casino Aruba is located inside the 450-room Riu Palace Aruba. Open daily from 10am to 4am, the 3,000-square-foot gaming space offers 214 gaming machines and ten table games, featuring American Roulette, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let it Ride and Roulette. Both Blackjack and slot tournaments are regularly scheduled. Also on the premises are five restaurants, five bars, a billiards room, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a gym, tennis courts and a spa.

Southernmost among the half dozen casinos on Palm Beach’s resort row is the Casablanca Casino. It occupies 12,000 square feet inside the 487-room Westin Aruba Resort, open daily from 10am till 4am. Gathered here are 300 gaming machines and 19 table games, including American Roulette, Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Mini-Baccarat, Poker and Roulette. There’s also a high stakes area and a 200-seat Bingo room, plus a race and sports book, complemented by five restaurants, three bars, a swimming pool, spa, tennis court and beach access. As with all Aruba casino’s, the minimum age for gaming is 21 years old.
