Leicester will face Newcastle in tomorrow afternoon`s early kick-off with both clubs looking to stave off relegation. The Foxes, tomorrow night`s hosts, have successfully escaped the bottom three but will be looking to put further daylight between themselves and the dreaded drop zone. The King Power Stadium outfit sit in 17th, just one place and one point above Sunderland who occupy the last relegation position. A home victory could see the hosts move above 16th placed Aston Villa whilst also seeing them four points better off than the Black Cats.

The flipside of this is that failing to win could see Sunderland usurp Nigel Pearson`s men, the home side ending the day in the bottom three should Sunderland get the better of Southampton.

Whilst Newcastle are five points clear of the drop zone, losing against Leicester could feasibly see this deficit be reduced to just two points. Indeed, Hull would replace the Tyneside club in 14th position should they see off Arsenal on Monday. Conversely, an away win would see United more or less safe, the club accumulating 38 points. This total would be enough to see them supersede West Brom should they fail to defeat Manchester United.

These two clubs have met twice already this season, firstly in the reverse Premier League fixture at St James` Park, latterly in the third round of the FA Cup at the King Power Stadium.

The previous Premier League game between the two sides ended 1-0 to Newcastle, the first half ending goalless with the deadlock being broken by Gabriel Obertan in the 71st minute. The Magpies were under the stewardship of ex-boss Alan Pardew before his move to Crystal Palace. Pardew was eventually replaced with caretaker manager John Carver.

Betvictor have 13/1 on Newcastle beating Leicester by a goal to nil once again with this bookmaker (along with bet365 and betfred) also having 17/2 on the match being tied at half time with the Magpies stealing all three points in the second 45. Obertan can be backed at 20/1 at all of bet365, Betvictor and boylesports to hit the first goal of the match.

Whilst the two sides` FA Cup third round game also ended 1-0, this time it was the Foxes` turn to run out the victors. The opener was provided by Leicester`s Leonardo Ulloa in the 39th minute, the second half remaining goalless to see Pearson`s men progress through to the fourth round of the tournament.

Seven-to-one (bet365, Betvictor, ladbrokes) is the price on Leicester winning by a goal to nil tomorrow with betway having 13/10 on one of the two sides winning by a margin of one goal. boylesports have 11/5 on the first 45 being the highest scoring half with Stan James` 6/1 on Ulloa providing the opener.

Despite their lowly position, Leicester`s home advantage means that it is they who are the favourites to come away from tomorrow`s encounter with all three points. All of betfred, ladbrokes and paddy Power have 19/20 on the East Midlands clubs sending Carver`s men away empty handed. Otherwise, Boylesports have 7/2 on an away victory with a draw being available at 27/10 at both bet365 and Betvictor.

Leicester`s 3-1 defeat at the hands of Chelsea at the beginning of the week ended the side`s four game winning streak. Pearson`s club had previously beaten all of West Ham (2-1), West Brom (3-2), Swansea (1-0) and Burnley (2-0) scoring eight goals and conceding three. Esteban Cambiasso and Andy King scored two goals apiece in these four clashes. They can be backed at 13/2 and 11/2 (both Bwin) respectively to hit the back of the net at any time tomorrow.

Their North East opponents have lost all of their last seven ties, scoring just four goals in this period. Spreadex have 7/4 on a Leicester clean sheet tomorrow.
