WOMENS QUARTER-FINALS
Sweden v France 12:00pm: France are the favourites at 11/10 (general) while Sweden are 23/8 (pinnacle). The draw is priced at 87/35 (pinnacle). The Swedes are unbeaten in their three games, while France have just one defeat (4-2 to the USA). It is a tough one to predict, but goals seem certain and the over 2.5 goals at evens (bet365/188bet) is the way to bet.
USA v New Zealand 2:30pm: william hill offer the best price (1/6) on a US victory. It looks a one-sided game but New Zealand have the capability to avoid a hammering. The Kiwis have a dogged defence and haven’t lost by more than one goal at the Olympics or the World Cup in 2011. Try a little play of the Asian Handicap market with New Zealand 2.0 priced at 11/10 (bet365) which looks worth small stakes.
Brazil v Japan 5:00pm: This should be a cracker, Brazil up against the current World Champions. This looks a tough game to call and the 47/20 (You Win) on the 90 minute draw looks like it could be worth a small investment.
GBR v Canada 7:30pm: Great Britain have had a great tournament so far winning every game without conceding. They are 11/12 (Pinnacle) to see off Canada here. Steph Houghton has been on fire in this tournament and is 10/1 (william hill) to score, while Melissa Tancredi has grabbed four goals this tournament and is 13/2 (Coral) to net the opener.
Outrights: The market is headed by Team USA (27/20-You Win) who will fancy their chances of seeing off New Zealand before a semi-final against GBR or Canada. With most bookmakers offering EW prices some value could be had on the other side of the draw.
MENS QUARTER-FINALS
Japan v Egypt Sat 4th 12:00pm: With just two goals and none conceded Japan probably look very uninteresting, but in fact they have played some wonderful posession based football, reminiscient of Spain. Egypt have been solid if unspectacular and the 1-0 Japan (11/2-paddy Power/188bet) and 2-0 Japan (17/2-paddy Power) correct scorelines look the way to play this.
Mexico v Senegal Sat 4th 2:30pm: Bookmakers expect a close game with Mexico the 19/12 (Pinnacle) favourites over 19/9 (Pinnacle) Senegal. Moussa Konate is 8/1 (BetVictor) for first scorer which seems generous on a player who has scored four goals in this tournament. The result looks too tough to call between two evenly matched sides.
Brazil v Honduras: Sat 4th 5:00pm: Brazil have been the team of the tournament so far and Neymar has looked the player of the tournament. They are 2/9 (Stan James) to come through here against a Honduras who have already beaten Spain. Jerry Bengtson is 16/1 (bet365) which is a good price on a player who has netted three times in the games and goes up against a Brazil side who have kept just one clean sheet so far.
GBR v South Korea: Sat 4th 7:30pm: GBR are the 39/29 (Pinnacle) favourites to go through, this looks a good price against a South Korea side who have proved difficult to break down, but do not have the same fire power as the hosts.
OUTRIGHTS: Brazil are the 11/18 (Pinnacle) favourites for the tournament ahead of GBR who are 22/3 (Pinnacle) with those two teams set to play each, the bet could be Japan each-way at 12/1 with Coral who are 1/3 the top two.
