Southampton take on Fulham in the first of four games Sunday in the Premier League. Bookmakers are split as to how to price this game and you can get a best price on the Saints of 9/5 (paddy Power/Stan James) while Fulham are a best priced 31/18 (pinnacle) and the draw at 22/9 (pinnacle). If Berbatov was guaranteed to start I would fancy Fulham for victory, however the injury to the frontman and the poor away form of the Whites means I will swerve this. Instead take the over 2.5 goals at 4/5 (Stan James/888 Sport/BWin) as this would have paid in each of the six games that each team has played in the league this season.

Liverpool are 1/2 (general) a home victory against Stoke as the Reds look to push on from an impressive 5-2 thumping of Norwich last Saturday. Amazingly if the Reds win this game it will just be their third victory in the league at Anfield in 2012, a terrible record. Although I do fancy Liverpool the price is far too short against a stubbon Stoke outfit. The bet here is on both teams to score which is a value 6/5 (Stan James). Liverpool allowed Norwich two goals last game and it is some nine games ago since the Merseysiders last kept a clean sheet in the Premier League. Stoke have found the net in eight of their last ten Premier league games and possess an in-form striker in Peter Crouch.

After victory at Old Trafford last week confidence will be high in the Spurs camp. Villa have won just one of their last 16 Premier League games and none of their last seven against Tottenham. Hope for Villa fans lies in the fact that boss Paul Lambert masterminded a victory for Norwich here last season and it is 15/2 (BetVictor/Coral) a Villa win while the draw is 53/14 (Pinnacle) and the home win is a best priced 10/21 (BWin). The best bet here is the 10/11 (boylesports/william hill) on both teams to score. This bet would have paid in all six Tottenham games this season and in four of the last five Aston Villa league games.

The final game of the weekend sees Newcastle against Man United. The Red Devils will be looking to bounce back after defeat against Tottenham last weekend at Old Trafford. United are the 19/20 (Sporting Bet/Stan James/william hill) favourites for this game. Newcastle though are unbeaten in their last three league games with the Red Devils and have lost just one of their last 13 league home games. Those who fancy the Magpies can get something out of this game can get 35/11 (Pinnacle) a Newcastle win and 68/23 the draw (Pinnacle). Robin Van Persie has scored five goals in his last five league starts against Newcastle and is 9/2 (paddy Power/Bwin/Coral) to score first. Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes also like playing the Magpies (Rooney has ten against Newcastle in the league, Scholes nine)0. Rooney is 11/2 (general) first goal while Paul Scholes is 6/1 (william hill) to score anytime. Newcastle also have a striker who enjoys the meetings between these two sides as Dembe Ba has scored in both Premier League appearances against Man Utd. He is 7/1 (general) to score the opener. The value bet could be taking some of the 5/6 (ladbrokes) are offering that a goal is scored in the final 15 minutes. This game is the 12th game this season for the Magpies and having played Thursday they could be very tired. United as we know are the masters of the late goal and this could be the way to play this one.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Over 2.5 goals Southampton v Fulham, 4/5 (Stan James/888sport/BWin)
SILVER: Both teams to score Liverpool v Stoke 6/5 (Stan James)
BRONZE: A goal to be scored in the last 15 mins of the game between Newcastle & Man Utd, 5/6 (ladbrokes).
