League Two

The market to finish top goalscorer in League Two is headed by Steven Gillespie at 14/1 (bet365) and rightly so. Gillespie finished with 11 goals in League One last season (for Colchester) and makes the drop down to League Two to play for newly promoted Fleetwood. Fleetwood will hope to follow in the footsteps of Crawley by achieving two successive promotions. Gillespie is likely to partner Andy Mangan or Jon Parkin up front and it will be no shock to see him at the top of the scoring charts come the end of the season. Stuart Beavon is another player who was among the goals in League One last season should certianly be among the goals in League Two. The player, who grabbed 20 goals in League one last season, is the target of a number of clubs in League One and the Championship and it will be a shock if he is at Wycombe at the start of the season.

Rotherham are expected to challenge for the league title this season under Steve Evans and Daniel Nardiello is expected to lead the line. The player, who signed from Exeter, is a 16/1 chance (bet365/BetVictor) and although he is likely to be among the goals it is worth swerving a player who has never registered double figures in one season. Also a 16/1 (BetVictor) chance is Marc Richards who will this season turn out for Chesterfield after five years at Port Vale. Richards is a proven scorer at this level getting into double figures in each of the last four seasons (grabbing 17 last season), he looks certain to be among the goals again this season. James Constable is another who gets among the goals regularly and has grabbed 26 in his last two seasons at Oxford and must be respected at 20/1 (bet365). The Oxford man had a slightly disappointing season by his standards last season (just the 11) but he will be sure to be in the mix this season.

Four players grabbed 18 goals last season to share the League Two goalscorer award, with tjust wo of these expected to return to League Two action this season. The first is Jack Midson who is a 25/1 (bet365/BetVictor) hope to finish as top scorer this season. Midson grabbed 18 in League Two for AFC Wimbledon last season and there seems little reason to believe he will not be among the goals again this season. The other is Ade Akinfenwa who is also a 25/1 chance (Bet365/BetVictor), the Northampton striker grabbed 18 goals in this division last season and will hope to be among the goals once again.

Those looking for some each-way value should consider Danny Kedwell at 33/1 (Bet365). The player plays for a Gillingham side who grabbed more goals than anyone else in the league last season with Kedwell netting 12 of these. The player will be expected to come on from his first season in the Football League. James Hanson at 66/1 (Bet365) is also worth small stakes. The striker grabbed 13 in the league last season for Bradford despite suffering from a groin injury in that ruled him out of almost all of February. Another each-way option is Guy Madjo at 100/1 (betfred). The Cameroonian grabbed eight goals in twenty games for Aldershot last season (after completing a move in January). If he can translate that form across a whole season then that 100/1 could look a real steal.
