Thanks to the success of English sides in the Europa League it is an unusually busy Sunday in the Premier League. Here is our guide to the best of the bets from the five games scheduled to take place.

Andy Carroll would so dearly like a chance to feature against Liverpool and show the manager and the fans that he could be worth another chance, sadly though the terms of his loan deal prevent him from lining up for West Ham this weekend. That is a blow for the Hammers as Carroll has netted four in his last six including two in the last game. Liverpool are in good form with four wins from their last five in the league though odds of 4/11 (general) do not interest me and I will look elsewhere for my bets on Sunday.

Kevin Miralles looks a value play at 21/2 (BetVictor) to net first or 7/2 (Skybet/paddy Power/william hill) in the anytime scorer market. The Belgian was given licence to come forward from midfield much more in the absence of Fellaini and Pienaar and he got a goal against Stoke in the last game. Tottenham have kept a clean sheet in just one of their last nine Premier League games so there is a good chance that Everton can net at least once here. In terms of the match market this looks tough to call especially with Spurs having played in the Europa League on Thursday night.

After all the controversy of the week Paulo Di Canio will welcome the chance to lead his Sunderland side out against Chelsea at the Bridge. Even allowing for the London side having played in the Europa League on Thursday this still looks a difficult opener for the struggling Black Cats. It is 103/10 (pinnacle) a Sunderland win while the draw is also best priced with pinnacle at 53/12. The best bet here is in backing the game to have under 2.5 goals at 16/13 (32 Red). Sunderland will look to keep things tight while this bet would have paid in six of the last ten Chelsea league home games including each of the last two.

At some point you feel Newcastle must get the points needed to secure their Premier League safety yet as the games go on so too does the danger they will get sucked into the relegation battle. At home to Fulham looks a perfect chance to get three points especially as the Londoners look safe. 11/10 (general) is a good price on the home side especially as they won four of their last five at home in all competitions. Fulham have shown improved form away from home however that win at Tottenham was just their second away from home in their last 12 games. The Magpies still have a few difficult games so they must make this a priority.

Following their loss to Fulham on Monday night things are starting to look very bleak for QPR who are seven points from safety with seven games to go. It amazes me just how Harry Redknapp has escaped so much criticism with a win record of just 23.81% as boss. His side are 17/12 (pinnacle) to see off Wigan while the visitors are 9/4 (Totesport/betfred) and the draw is a best priced 37/15 (Pinnacle). The recommended bet on this game is Andros Townsend in the goalscorer markets who is 16/1 to score first with bet365 who offer a 1/3 the odds on unlimited each-way scorers. The wide man has netted twice in the last three games and looks value here.
