After a whirlwind start the Premier League pauses for the international break let us take stock and see how the markets are taking shape.

Chelsea are the only side to have won all three games in the Premier League so far and are now 15/4 (You Win) third favourites to claim the title. The London side lead the way though I am as yet unimpressed. They looked poor in the European Super Cup against Atletico Madrid which highlighted the weaknesses at the back and once they face some better sides I feel they may come unstuck. It is Man City who are the 6/4 (paddy Power) favourites and deservedly so. Though the side has not performed at a peak they still have seven points from their first three games and will only improve for the additions of Javier Garcia, Maicon and Scott Sinclair along with the return to fitness of Sergio Aguero. Yaya Toure and Carlos Tevez have been excellent and City still look the ones to beat. Man Utd are the 2/1 (general) second favourites and have two wins and one loss from three games. On the positive side for the Red Devils is the way Robin Van Persie has settled into the season who going forward has given Utd a new threat. On the negative side is the defence that has looked shaky as have both keepers David De Gea and Anders Lindergaard. With question marks over United and City I like the look of the 14/1 (general) on Arsenal. Remember most bookmakers will be playing 1/3 the odds EW the top two and the Gunners could sneak into that top two. The Gunners have five points though they really should have nine but for misfiring strikers. If they can find a way to sharpen up in front of goal then they should be right in the mix. 14/1 looks a great price.

At the other end of the table a number of teams must consider themselves worried about relegation. Southampton are 6/5 (You Win) favourites for the drop. The Saints are pointless and though they will struggle 6/5 is no value as they still have to play most of the teams round about them. Others in the relegation market are Norwich 5/4 (Stan James), Reading 11/8 (BetVictor), Wigan at 9/4 (bet365) and Aston Villa at 5/2 (BetVictor/Stan James). Any of eleven could still go down for me and as such it remains a market to swerve currently.

Robin Van Persie is the 3/1 (You Win) favourite to be Premier League topscorer ahead of Carlos Tevez who is 13/2 (paddy Power/ You Win). I can not really see past these two as both will presented with a number of scoring chances for teams among the goals. I like the each-way value of Steven Fletcher at 66/1 (BetVictor) with the creative talents of Adam Johnson and James McClean the natural finisher should be among the goals.

In the next manager to leave their post market. Saints boss Nigel Adkins is the 4/1 (william hill) favourite from Tottenham boss Andre Villas Boas at 6/1 (general) and Mark Hughes at 13/2 (Coral). Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also considered at risk and is 8/1 (paddy power/Coral/william hill).

One final recommendation is for West Brom at 9/4 (Totesport/betfred) to finish in the top ten this season. Fulham are the side priced ahead of them but without Dembele they could be vulnerable as too could a Newcastle side with the exertions of the Europa League. The impressive thing about West Brom is all seven points so far have come against top half teams and they have still yet to play the easier teams.
