Premier League preview and odds: AFC Bournemouth vs West Bromwich Albion

September 10 , 2016 15:00pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

AFC Bournemouth will be looking to break their winless streak when they welcome perennial mid-table dwellers West Bromwich Albion to the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Hosts keen to dismiss early relegation talk

After picking up just one point from their opening three games, Bournemouth have been left languishing in 19th place in the Premier League prompting talk of a difficult second season and an ensuing relegation battle. Having remained clear of the drop zone for most of their maiden campaign, the Cherries would have been hoping to achieve a more comfortable mid-table position this time round.

Boss Eddie Howe will be aware that a win this weekend could provide the momentum and confidence that the teams needs to push towards that goal. However, another defeat could plant further seeds of doubt into the minds of players and fans alike.

After losing their first two games to Manchester United and West Ham, the South Coast side did shows signs of improvement in the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace and it will be the positive aspects of that performance that they will be looking to carry into this game. As a result, they can be expected to go on the attack early in this game.

Meanwhile, West Brom have had a typically inconsistent start to the new campaign, having bagged a win, a draw and a loss from their first three games. Under the guidance of head coach Tony Pulis, the Baggies look set for another season drifting in the mid-table waters

Team news

Eddie Howe should have the luxury of a fully fit squad to choose from this weekend.

Meanwhile, the visitors will continue without the services of Chris Brunt who is still out with an ACL injury.

West Bromwich Albion: DLLWL

Betting odds and tips

Bournemouth will look to start on the front foot but they are facing a team that is well drilled in sitting back and soaking up pressure. With questions marks surrounding the home side`s defensive set-up, the Baggies will fancy their chances on the counter-attack.
