After going three from three in our NFL picks Thursday readers of this have reasons to be thankful (I do accept Cheques and Postal Orders) and here is hoping this Sunday we can find a few more winners. Hats off to BWin for being the only bookmaker brave enough to take stand on the game between Minnesota and Chicago as we wait on news on whether the Bears QB Jay Cutler will be cleared to play. BWin make the Bears 4/9 and the Vikings 24/13. It is difficult to do a full preview on a game with few prices available. Keep your eyes peeled on the Cutler news if he does return then Matt Forte could offer some value in the touchdown markets as he has a good career record against the Vikings and was playing well before Cutler went down with his concussion.

The next game pitches San Francisco at New Orleans in what should be a cracker. These two sides did battle in the NFC Divisonal play-off round last season with the 49ers coming out on top 36-32. The 49ers have come on since then while the Saints have gone back a little though they are in great form having won their last three and five of their last six to get themselves back in the play-off picture. The 49ers are unbeaten in their last four winning three and tying one. Last time out they were far too hot for Chicago with Colin Kaepernick expected to retain the QB jersey from fit-again Alex Smith. Kaepernick went for 243 yards against a Bears defence widely considered to be one of (if not the) elite in the league. The Saints are second bottom in opposing passing yards with an average of 305.0 and paddy Power must be taken up on their generous offer of Kaepernick going for over 240.5 yards at 5/6.

Also worth taking is Vernon Davis at 11/10 (Skybet/Coral) in the anytime scorer market. Davis was too much for the Saints to handle back in January and he grabbed a touchdown against the Bears last weekend. Kaepernick seems comfortable in finding Davis and this should see the Tight End receive a number of looks in the Red Zone.

The third and final live game on Sunday sees Green Bay at New York as the 7-3 Packers take on the 6-4 Giants. Giving the home advantage bookmakers make the Giants the 20/27 (william hill) favourites for the game while the Packers are 17/13 (pinnacle). This looks a great game to watch between Superbowl contenders and two of the elite Quarterbacks in the league in Aaron Rodgers and Eli Manning. Calling this game is a tough one and is not helped by the fact that the last six meetings between these sides have been split 3-3. The last three meetings between these sides have seen 57 or over points scored and it might pay again to go with the over points as bookmakers have set their lines at 50-51.

The Monday Night Football game has Carolina at Philadelphia in a game that pitches two of the most disappointing teams of the season. The Panthers enter with a 2-8 record and seven losses from their last eight. The Eagles meanwhile are 3-7 and have lost their last six games. Calling this game is a nightmare and this looks one to swerve from a betting point of view.

Back to Sunday and in the non-live games one bet that stands out is the Ravens to beat the Chargers. Baltimore have won seven of their last eight with that one defeat coming to Houston. The Chargers meanwhile have lost five of their last six losing to teams like Cleveland and Tampa Bay. Take the Ravens at 22/23 (pinnacle) to come out on top here.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Baltimore to beat San Diego, 22/23 (Pinnacle)
SILVER: Colin Kapernick over 240.5 passing yards v Saints, 5/6 (paddy Power)
BRONZE: Vernon Davis anytime TD scorer v Saints, 11/10 (Skybet/Coral)
