Grab your Turkey sandwiches, cut up your Pumpkin Pie and wash it all down with some American Cream Soda (if they even still make that) as the NFL marks Thanksgiving with a triple header of action.

The opener sees the Superbowl favourites Houston at Detroit. It is 7/12 (pinnacle) that the Texans emerge victorious here (a win that could see them becoming the first team to secure a berth in the play-offs if other results go their way). The Lions meanwhile are 4-6 and can not afford a defeat here after losing their last two games. It is 8/5 (boylesports/ladbrokes) that the home side win while the point line is set at three or three and a half. The bet here looks like to be in taking Calvin Johnson to receive over 100.5 yards which is 5/6 with bet365. Johnson has reached at least 129 yards in each of his last three starts and one of these occasions he went for over 200 yards. The Lions Wide Receiver will likely be watched by Johnathan Joseph (the Texans Cornerback) who is carrying an injury and is a game time decision. Johnson will cause nightmares for a fit defender never mind one that could be injured or even worse absent. Alan Ball (not the former soccer player) is the likely reserve and Johnson will be pumped to face him.

The second game that evening features Washington at Dallas as the RG III roadshow rolls into Cowboys Stadium. Griffin will no doubt be hungry to do well as the 2011 Heisman State Trophy winner counts Dallas as his home state. The Cowboys are 10/17 (william hill/You Win/pinnacle) for victory here a win that would move them over .500 with a 6-5 record. The Redskins are without a win on their last three visits to Dallas though confidence will be high after a comprehensive victory over Philadelphia last week and you can get 31/20 (boylesports/ladbrokes) a Washington win. The best bet in this game looks like being Santana Moss to grab a touchdown at 9/5 (paddy Power/william hill) in the anytime scorer market. The other Moss has already grabbed six touchdowns this season including four in his last four games (this is even more impressive when you consider one of these games was a write-off with a head injury). Griffin should be primed for a big game and if Moss has recovered from the head injury should see a lot more looks than he did last week.

The final day draws to a close to in the Big Apple though food might be the last thing on your mind at that point. New England are at the New York Jets and this is a rivalry that is felt strongly. The Patriots have won the last three meetings between the sides and with six wins from their last seven should enter this game full of confidence. The bookmakers make the Patriots 10/27 (Skybet) favourites for the game while the Jets are 45/16 (pinnacle). I like the look of the Patriots to cover the seven point spread at evens with Skybet. The Colts were hammered by New England and the Jets do not carry the same offensive weapons that Indianapolis do. Apart from the victory over St Louis the Jets have suffered comprehensive defeats to Miami and Seattle recently and Mark Sanchez is a lowly 29th ranked passer and had 13 turnovers in the Jets first nine games. New England rank first in the AFC in turnovers and took three off Andrew Luck a much better quarterback than Sanchez.

BEST OF THE BETS/h2>

GOLD: New England to cover -7.00 on point spread v NY Jets, evens (Skybet)
SILVER: Calvin Johnson over 100.5 receiving yards, 5/6 (bet365)
Bronze: Santana Moss to score anytime touchdown v Cowboys, 9/5 (paddy Power/william hill)
