Man Utd are the 7/4 (general) favourites for the Premier League trophy following their 3-2 victory over Chelsea on Sunday. The game went perfectly for United with them going 2-0 up early before Chelsea fought back to 2-2. At this point fortune favoured United once more as Chelsea had two men sent off allowing the Red Devils to coast to a 3-2 victory over nine men. Bookmakers have reacted by making them favourites though Chelsea still have a one point advantage at the top of the table. Those who think Chelsea can still lift the title can get 3/1 (Stan James/ladbrokes) which looks decent value. Man City are the 31/16 (32 Red) second favourites for the title and they are on the same amount of points as United on 21 which is just one behind Chelsea. Despite not firing on all cylinders City remain the only undefeated team in the league now, seeing off Swansea 1-0 on Saturday.

It is a four point gap to Tottenham in fourth place who are 66/1 (general) to win the league and are 2/1 (general) to finish in the top four come the end of the season. Arsenal who saw off QPR 1-0 at the weekend are 4/6 (general) to finish in the top four. The Merseyside derby ended in a 2-2 draw with Liverpool having a winning goal disallowed in injury time. The result keeps Everton in fifth and Liverpool in 12th. You can get evens (general) that Everton end the season in the top six while Liverpool are 6/5 (BetVictor) to finish in the top six. Newcastle meanwhile saw off West Brom 2-1 and are 9/2 (Skybet/Stan James/ladbrokes) to finish in the top six. The Baggies can consider themselves a little unlucky not too get anything out of this game and they should be considered at 11/8 (Stan James) to finish in the top ten as too should be Fulham who are 17/20 (ladbrokes) for a top ten finish.

At the other end of the table Southampton are the 8/11 (bet365/paddy Power/william hill) favourites for the drop as they continue to leak goals at the bag. Reading are another side who are struggling at the moment and they are 3/4 (BWin) for the drop. After four points from their last two games Norwich are being eased out in the relegation market and are now as big as 21/20 (ladbrokes) for the drop while Wigan are 2/1 (Skybet/paddy Power/Coral) and QPR are 9/4 (boylesports/BetVictor). Aston Villa looked poor against Norwich and offer some value at 5/2 (paddy Power) to go down.

Dembe Ba and Robin Van Persie top the goalscoring charts with seven goals each and it is the Dutchman who is the 9/4 (BetVictor) favourite. I like the each way chances of Dembe Ba at 16/1 (BetVictor/paddy power) as the Newcastle frontman remains prolific in front of goal and the Magpies have some decent games coming up. With no African Cup of Nations duty either Ba backers will not have to worry about the player disappearing for a number of weeks in January.

I also like the thought of a small bet on the team to keep most clean sheets market that paddy Power are offering. Chelsea are the 5/2 favourites with four clean sheets so far this season. Arsenal also have four clean sheets and are 11/4. I like the look of any other team in this market as this will allow you Stoke (four current clean sheets) and Sunderland (three current clean sheets). This option is available at 12/1.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Dembe Ba to finish top Premier League scorer, EW, 16/1 (BetVictor/paddy power)
SILVER: Aston Villa to go be relegated, 5/2 (paddy Power)
BRONZE: Any other team to keep most clean sheets, 12/1 (paddy power)
