Premier League Live Games Sat 17th

Jeff Stelling and the Soccer Saturday boys (other score roundups are available) will be busy this Saturday with six 3pm Premier League starts hopefully we can find you a winning bet or two to cheer on.

Liverpool have won just three of 15 Premier League games at Anfield in 2012 yet bookmakers insist on making them 10/21 (pinnacle) for victory. This is a terrible price and one to avoid especially against a Wigan side they have not won any of their last five against. The visitors won at White Hart Lane last time on their travels and they are certainly capable of getting something here. You can get Wigan at 16/19 (pinnacle) with +1.25 on the Asian Handicap. This means that if Wigan win or draw then you get paid in full and if they lose by one you get a half win.

After running Man Utd close last week the fixture list does not get any kinder to Aston Villa as they are now forced to travel to the Etihad and take on Man City. It is 2/9 (general) a City victory while the draw is 227/35 (Pinnacle). It is 102/7 (Pinnacle) that Villa can repeat their League Cup feats and get a victory here. Take the 11/10 (Stan James) on both teams to score which would have paid in eight of the last ten Man City home games and in six of the last nine Aston Villa games.

After a hugely disappointing showing against West Ham we can not be advising to take Newcastle to see off Swansea at just 28/29 (Pinnacle). Swansea might appeal to some at 10/3 (general) or the draw at 35/13 (Pinnacle). It is a tricky game from a betting point of view and I will recommend those who must have a bet try the 10/11 (ladbrokes) are offering on Swansea to keep a HT clean sheet, no side has scored fewer first half goals in the Premier League than Newcastle this season (four).

Come Saturday evening one of Mark Hughes and Nigel Adkins could find themselves looking for new work if their side loses the battle between QPR and Southampton. Bookmakers make QPR 66/67 (Pinnacle) favourites which is a poor price on a side yet to win a league game this season. They might be tigher at the back than the Saints however they do not look to carry the goal threat their opponents do. It is such a tricky game to call and as such I would recommend keeping bets small. Try Adam Lallana at 12/1 (boylesports) to grab the first assist as he is on a number of the set-pieces, he is also 4/1 to assist at anytime and he has four this season.

Everton (like Man Utd) are a side who are known for their comebacks conceding first in each of their last six games while Reading are a side not known for holding on too a lead. It is 9/2 (Blue Sq/888 Sport) that the Royals score first here and fail too hold the lead. The bet here is again in the assist market where Leighton Baines is 12/1 with boylesports for the first assist or 4/1 in the anytime assist market. Baines has created ten more goalscoring chances (47) than any other player in the top five European League this season so far.

Despite the form of West Brom, despite the presence of Steve Clarke, despite a little blip for Chelsea I can not turn down a chance to play Chelsea at evens (Pinnacle). The Blues had a number of chances to see off Liverpool in the first half and failed to convert them. I think Chelsea will bounce back here in a game they will have marked as hugely important.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Wigan +1.25 on the Asian Handicap, 16/19 (Pinnacle)
SILVER: Chelsea to beat West Brom, evens (Pinnacle)
BRONZE: Both teams to score in Man City v Aston Villa, 11/10 (Stan James)
