As Dean Martin once said the weather outside might be frightful but the Football is so delightful (actually he might not have said that last bit) then there is simply nothing else to do but just enjoy the feast of Premier League action on Sunday.

The first of the double header sees Man City take on Tottenham and it is 8/13 (general) that City take all three points. This is probably as a result of the fine home run City are on with no defeat in their last 34 Premier League home games. It is hard to know what to make of Roberto Mancini and his team this season despite not having lost a game in the league yet they have looked very unconvincing. I think the time may be right to take on City as a poor Champions League campaign has raised questions about the management capabilities of Mancini and you have to wonder how much belief the players in the Italian. I think Tottenham have the kind of side set up to get something out of this game and can do a similar job to that they did on Man United. Gareth Bale, Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe have the pace to attack City on the counter and get at a backline that has looked vulnerable this season. You can play this many ways though I would recommend taking Tottenham on the Asian Handicap at +0.75 which is a best priced 23/18 (pinnacle). This bet will pay out fully if Tottenham win or draw and pay a half loss if Spurs lose just by the one goal.

In between the live games Newcastle take on West Ham with the home side looking a decent 17/16 (32 Red) for victory. I would probably keep stakes small due to the team having played in the Europa League Thursday however at better than evens the Magpies merit a small interest. Only the Manchester duo (City and United) have won at Newcastle in the last 15 Premier League games and with Dembe Ba expected to be passed fit for this game I think they should have too much firepower for West Ham. The Hammers have won just one of their last ten away games in the Premier League and although you think Sam Allardyce will have them fired up for this game I just can’t see them getting anything out of it.

Also in the Premier League Chelsea take on Liverpool as they look to bounce back from a couple of disappointing recent results in the league including a defeat to Man Utd and a draw with Swansea. The evens (Stan James/ladbrokes/william hill) on offer seems very generous bearing in mind the respective gaps between these sides in terms of points and in terms of potential finishing positions. Liverpool have won just two of their ten games this season while the Blues have won seven of ten games in the league this season. Those looking for a first goalscorer bet on the game will see that Fernando Torres is the 13/2 (general) to score against his old club while Daniel Sturridge is 7/1 (general) and the in-form Luis Suarez 15/2 (bet365/paddy Power/Stan James).

One game is taking place Sunday in the Championship with Bristol City taking on Charlton and bookmakers make City 8/5 (william hill) favourites though they have lost their last six games. Charlton can be had at 9/8 (32 Red) in the draw no bet market which looks decent value on a side who beat Cardiff in their last game and are unbeaten in their last four.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Chelsea to beat Liverpool, evens (Stan James/ladbrokes/william hill)
SILVER: Tottenham on the Asian Handicap +0.75, 23/18 (pinnacle)
BRONZE: Charlton to beat Bristol City draw no bet, 9/8 (32 Red). Newcastle to beat West Ham, 17/16 (32 Red)
