With Blackburn and Cardiff doing battle on Friday night eleven games take place in the Championship on Saturday. The Saturday evening live game is another Midlands derby as Wolves play host to Birmingham. It is the home side who are the 5/4 (BetVictor/ladbrokes/Coral) favourites for the game with the draw a best priced 47/18 (pinnacle) and a Birmingham victory available at 12/5 (general). Both teams had morale boosting wins last weekend after a poor run of recent form. Wolves hammered Bristol City while Birmingham saw off high-flying Middlesbrough. Before that win Wolves had won none of their previous nine while the Birmingham win marked only their third three points from their last 12 games.

This looks a difficult game to call between sides of a similar level and at these prices I would recommend looking at other markets. Those who want to bet on this game could do worse than take a bet on the in-form Marlon King at 13/2 (BWin/Coral) to score first or 9/5 (BWin) in the anytime scorer market. King has netted nine in his last nine games including a double in his last game. The Molineux side have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last six home games.

Both teams have scored in each of the last five Birmingham games and in five of the last six Wolves games and both teams to score is 4/6 (paddy Power) while the over 2.5 goals is 6/7 (188 Bet).

One game you would have loved to have seen the cameras turn up for is the one between Crystal Palace and Blackpool as Ian Holloway goes up against his old side. The decision to leave Palace for Blackpool has so far look justified as Palace sit second in the table while Blackpool are down in 12th and could be forced to sell off prized asset Thomas Ince in the January transfer window. Micheal Appleton though is doing a good job and seems to be getting the team together as they have gone six games unbeaten. The draw at 49/18 (pinnacle) might be the option as Blackpool have drawn four of their last six. Both sides have their motivations to not lose this game and this could result in the game ending all square.

After a slow start the Watford experiment seems to be going very well as they have reached the play-off places. The Hornets are now seven games unbeaten and have grabbed a remarkable 18 goals in their last five games. Hull are no mugs away from home though and have won three of their last four on their travels (their only loss at Cardiff is hardly a disgrace). The 7/5 (Coral) are offering on a home win might look great value though be a little bit careful on this one. Instead I would recommend a bet on Troy Deeney in the anytime scorer market, the Watford striker is 6/4 (general) to score at anytime which is very generous on a player on such a run of form (scoring six goals in his last five games).

You know by now our views on Burnley and I am happy to take the 775/1000 (ladbrokes) on them and the draw in the double chance market away to Forest. The Clarets have lost just two of their last five away games (one at Cardiff ) while Forest have won just two of their last eight at home (one of these was against Sheffield Wednesday).

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Burnley/Draw double chance v Forest, 775/1000 (ladbrokes)
SILVER: Draw between Palace and Blackpool, 49/18 (Pinnacle)
BRONZE: Troy Deeney to score anytime v Hull, 6/4 (general)
