Football Saturday Live Games Preview

If Chelsea wanted to recreate the experience of Ewood Park last season then they should have just appointed Steve Kean. He could have got the Stamford Bridge faithful to hate him at half the cost of Rafa Benitez. Still Football fans are a fickle bunch and a win over West Ham will see Rafa become the saviour (well until they next lose).

On the back of two nil-nil draws under the Spaniard you can get 11/1 (BetVictor) that this game ends drawn which bearing in mind how tight West Ham like to keep things and how tight Chelsea are keeping things is not the worst bet ever.

In the match market Chelsea are the 21/20 (BetVictor) favourites as they seek to continue their good record against West Ham against whom they have lost none of their last 12 Premier League games (winning ten of these). West Ham have drawn three of their last five at home in the league and the draw can be backed at 5/2 (general). Chelsea have won none of their last four away games in all competitions including defeat in their last two and a West Ham win is 16/5 (boylesports/ladbrokes).

The first goalscorer market is headed by Fernando Torres who is 6/1 (general) to grab the opener ahead of teammate Daniel Sturridge who is a 7/1 (BetVictor/Blue Sq/888 Sport chance while Juan Mata is a 17/2 (bet365) hope. Andy Carroll is a 8/1 (ladbrokes) shot. The goals have dried up a little for Kevin Nolan in recent weeks however I think he could be worth a small play here at 10/1 (BetVictor/Blue Sq/888 Sport) in the first goalscorer market and at 7/2 (Blue Sq/888 Sport) to score at anytime. Four of the five goals the midfielder has grabbed have come at home and he looks the value selection here.

The second live game on Saturday pits Reading up against Man United. United have lost their last two away games in all competitions and it is 36/5 (188 Bet) that Reading get all three points here. The Royals have won just one of their last six games though this did come at home where they saw off Everton. If you think United can make their class tell then you can get 6/13 (pinnacle) an away win while the draw is a best priced 4/1 (Totesport/betfred).

The first goalscorer market has Robin Van Persie as the 17/5 (BetVictor) favourite, Wayne Rooney is 4/1 (general), Javier Hernandez is 5/1 (BWin) while Danny Welbeck is 11/2 (BetVictor/188 Bet/william hill). Those looking for a Reading scorer can get Adam Le Fondre at 25/2 (Bwin) with the same bookmaker offering the same price on Pavel Pogrebnyak while Jason Roberts is 14/1 (BWin).

One bet I really like the look of is Nicky Shorey at a massive 28/1 (boylesports) to grab the first assist or 10/1 (Boylesports) to assist anytime. Shorey has assisted two of the last four Reading goals with the other two being a penalty and one resulting from a goalkeeping howler. The full-back gets down the flanks as well as taking a number of set pieces, he looks a huge price in this market.

One last bet I really like the look of is in an interesting new market ladbrokes are doing in the anytime correct score market. You can get Man Utd to be 2-0 up at anytime at 6/5 and also cover yourself on Utd to be leading 2-1 at anytime at 12/5. No side have let the opponents have more shots at their goal than Reading this season (and they have played a game less than almost all the other teams). I can not see Reading going 2-0 up themselves so the danger on this bet is only if the Red Devils do not score twice though if Wigan can grab three then I have faith in United.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Man Utd to lead 2-0 (6/5) and 2-1 (12/5) in ladbrokes anytime correct score market.
SILVER: Nicky Shorey to assist v Man Utd, 28/1 First, 10/1 Anytime (both boylesports).
BRONZE: Kevin Nolan to score v Chelsea, 10/1 First (BetVictor/Blue Sq/888 Sport) and anytime 7/2 (Blue Sq/888 Sport).
