A shock victory at Stamford Bridge could be the turning point QPR needed to kick-start their Premier League campaign. The fixtures do not get easier though as this Saturday they meet Tottenham at Loftus Road in the live lunchtime game.

The game pits Harry Redknapp, the current QPR manager, against Andre Villas-Boas the man who replaced him at Tottenham. It might have seemed at the time (especially to his friends in the media) that replacing Redknapp was a strange move by Levy yet if Villas-Boas can deliver Champions League Football next season (which I believe he can) then it has been a shrewd move.

Speaking of shrewd Spurs at 10/11 (william hill) looks a shrewd bet. Despite the victory at Chelsea and a loss here last season I still think Tottenham represent great value. Tottenham are unbeaten in their last six in all competitions winning five of these. Not only are they winning they are winning they are winning well, in their last four games they have scored 12 goals and conceded just three. Away from home Tottenham have won three of their last four in the league and really should have got at least a draw from their visit to Goodison Park.

QPR fans will hope they can repeat their heroics at Stamford Bridge or the result last season when they saw off Tottenham 1-0. QPR rode their luck to get a draw with West Brom in the FA Cup last week and have lost their last two home games in the Premier League with West Brom and Liverpool winning at Loftus Road in recent weeks. I can not be siding with them here at 74/21 (pinnacle) or the draw at 31/11 (pinnacle).

The first goalscorer market is headed by Jermain Defoe who is an 11/2 (Coral) chance and has grabbed ten goals already this season in the Premier League. The player I like the look of is Clint Dempsey in the goalscorer markets where he is 7/1 (paddy Power/ladbrokes) to score first and 11/5 (ladbrokes) in the anytime market. As the row with Adebayor and Villas-Boas rumbles on over the player and his desire to join Togo in the African Cup of Nations I expect Dempsey to take advantage and play further forward. The American has grabbed three in the last two games and with Tottenham getting among the goals at the moment I expect him to have plenty of chances here.

The other live game on Saturday takes place in the Championship and sees Hull take on Sheffield Wednesday. Hull are the 4/6 (bet365/Coral/william hill) favourites and this seems fair bearing in mind the respective form of these sides. The Tigers are unbeaten in their last nine in all competitions and lost just two of their last 15 games. The Owls meanwhile have won just three of their last 15 though those wins have come in recent games. The six game form figures of won four, drawn one, last one sounds a lot more promising and better still Wednesday have taken seven points from their last three league away games. Those who think the Owls can get something here can get them at 146/29 (Pinnacle) who are also best priced on the draw at 49/16 (Pinnacle). The best bet here is in the evens paddy Power are offering on both teams not to score. This would have paid out in the last three Hull league games and better still in their last five home games in the Championship. The stats of Sheffield Wednesday also support this as both teams have failed to score in their last six games and in each of their last five away games. This bet would have also paid in each of the last four meetings between these sides.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Tottenham to beat QPR, 10/11 (william hill)
SILVER: Both teams NOT to score in Hull v Sheff Wed, Evens (paddy Power)
BRONZE: Clint Dempsey to score v QPR, first 7/1 (paddy power/ladbrokes), anytime 11/5 (ladbrokes)
