Following a very comfortable home match against group E whipping boys San Marino, England travel to Tallinn to face Estonia. Estonia opened off their qualifying campaign with a good 1-0 home win against Slovenia but will have been disappointed not come away from their latest match away to Lithuania with at least a point, going down 1-0 in Vilnius.
It`s already becoming clear that unless something totally unexpected happens, England are going to qualify from this group as winners, this has become more apparent following the two defeats suffered by the other leading contender in the group, Switzerland. The English move into this match top of the group, level on six points with Lithuania and three points clear of their opponents Estonia, having each played two games.
It`s not surprising then, considering the start that`s been made in the group and England`s stature that they are 1/4 favourites with SkyBet to come away from Estonia with all three points. Therefore, we need to look elsewhere to find any value with England and bet365 have the in-form Danny Welbeck at 21/10 to score at any time during the game. With Wayne Rooney still looking to close in on Jimmy Greaves in the England all time goal scorers list, the Manchester United striker will see this as the perfect opportunity to add to his goals total and is 3/1 with paddypower to score the first goal of the game.
As far as Estonia are concerned, their opening home win against Slovenia is looking even better than first thought after seeing the Slovenian`s go on to defeat Switzerland and they will certainly provide England with a tougher test than San Marino managed on Thursday. Despite losing away to Lithuania in their last outing, Estonia are generally much better when playing at home than they are away, having won that game against Slovenia and also holding Netherlands to a 2-2 draw in their world cup qualifying match recently. However, odds of 14/1 with BetVictor for an Estonia win show how far behind England they really are. Realistically, the best they can hope for is to leave Tallinn with a point and the draw is available at 21/4 with bet365.
Estonia are team that tend to be involved in low scoring matches, especially at home so don`t expect there to be a feast of goals in this one and under 2.5 goals in the match can be backed at 6/5 with ladbrokes. Furthermore, England do not have a history of taking teams like Estonia apart and putting four or five past them, in their last world cup qualifying group they only managed to come away from Ukraine, Poland and Montenegro with a point, scoring just two goals in the process. Based on this and Estonia`s ability to keep things tight in home matches, the game to be level at half-time and finish in favour of England at full-time is available at 3/1 with SkyBet and is worth a punt.
However, don`t expect Estonia to just sit back and camp outside their own penalty area like San Marino did against England, they will be encouraged to get forward at every possibility, especially by the home crowd. England still look capable of conceding goals, even to teams who are outside of the top ranking positions and BetVictor offer odds of 29/20 for both teams to score. In addition to this, England to win and both teams to score is 9/4 with paddypower but if you do fancy there to be an upset, Estonia to win 1-0 is available at 30/1 with the same firm.
