Football League One and Two Preview

It is almost a full fixture list in League One with eleven games and the same number in League Two. Here is our guide to the best of the bets in these games.

The Premier League and Championship title race are more or less all over but in League One it could go down to the wire with a remarkable seven teams within five points at the top of the table.

Sheff United are the current leaders and they take on Leyton Orient next. The Blades have hit form at the right time winning their last four games including a big win at rivals Bournemouth last time out. Many might rush to include United in their accumulators at 14/19 (pinnacle) though a word of caution Orient tend to raise their game againt the bigger sides in the division and as such I will be avoiding this game. Yeovil did not get all three points at the weekend though a draw against Doncaster is no disgrace and they are recommended again on Tuesday night. The Glovers are 7/5 (general) for all three points against a Colchester side who have lost three of their last four and conceded eight in their last two games. Speaking of conceding goals then this leads me nicely to recommending another bet on Paddy Madden in the anytime scorer market. BetVictor are offering 23/20 despite the fact that he is netted in each of his last eight games (netting eleven in total). Stick with the hot hand that is the Republic of Ireland forward.

Sticking with League One and I think Hartlepool might be worth a little interest at home to Crewe. Pool looked dead and buried along time ago but suddenly a run of form wins and two draws from their last six games means that they suddenly have a little hope of survival. At evens (general) in the draw no bet market at home to Crewe they must be worth a chance to continue on with their good form. Crewe have won just two of their last seven league games and look to be caught in mid table too many points short of the play-offs but in no real danger of relegation. Shrewsbury did the business for us at the weekend with a home win over Stevenage and odds of 20/11 (pinnacle) a home win look decent though Doncaster do tend to draw a few so you might want to consider covering in the draw no bet or double chance market.

Into League Two and the form side in the division are Burton who have picked up 14 points from their last three six games. Odds of 19/17 (Pinnacle) might appeal to some though be careful as their opponents Morecambe are second in the form table having take 13 points from their last six (including seven from their last three).

League leaders Gillingham are at home to an Oxford side who have taken just five poins from their last seven though four of these have come in their last two games. Gillingham will have the supporters at 17/20 (BetVictor/pinnacle) though this looks a little short to me. Port Vale are also going well in the division and they are 20/23 (BetVictor) to see off an Exeter side who are currently holding the last spot in the play-off race.

Returning to the Burton v Morecambe game and I like the look of Jacques Maghoma in the anytime scorer market where is 13/5 (bet365/BetVictor) to net for Burton. The DR Congo player has grabbed three in his last two and looks decent value to net again here.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Yeovil to beat Colchester, 7/5 (general)
SILVER: Hartlepool draw no bet v Crewe, evens (general)
BRONZE: Paddy Madden to score anytime v Colchester, 23/20 (BetVictor)
