Premier League preview and odds: Chelsea vs Leicester City

October 15 , 2016 13:30pm - Stamford Bridge

Premier League

After a run of just one win in four Premier League matches, Chelsea will look to keep in touch with the top four by defeating last year`s champions Leicester City at Stamford Bridge.

Italian bosses go head-to-head in crucial clash

Antonio Conte has barely had a chance to make his mark in English football but has already had to deal with speculation surrounding his future in West London. Rumours of his imminent dismissal caused bookmakers to suspend betting on that particular market until the claims were dismissed by the club a few days ago.

As a result, the Blues will be keen to quash any further rumours by bagging all three points when former boss Claudio Ranieri arrives in the capital with his team of champions this weekend.

Conte`s men won their first match in four last time out when they battled to a 2-0 win away to Hull City. That win kept them within three points of the top four with seven games played.

Meanwhile, last season`s surprise champions Leicester City have continued to stumble in their follow up season. The Foxes were held to a 0-0 draw at home to Southampton last time out and have amassed just eight points from their first seven fixtures. A record that has left them in 12th place, 10 points adrift of the league leaders.

Leicester have not won any of their last five away matches in the league, having lost three and drawn two, but they have managed to score at least one goal in 21 of their last 22 away games. A win could lift the East Midlands side back into the top 10.

Team news

Willian is on compassionate leave following the death of his mother and is expected to miss out for the Blues. Victor Moses could also miss out with a minor injury, while John Terry could make the squad for the first time in a month. Other absentees included Marco van Ginkel and Kurt Zouma.

Leicester are hopeful that Danny Drinkwater can shake off a groin issue, while Mendy is unlikely to feature as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
