I spoke in the preview of the Friday international games about how there was to many mismatches in international football between two teams of vastly differing quality which brings me nicely to Scotland at Belgium. It is 4/11 (general) that Belgium emerge victorious Tuesday night and I can not argue with this. These two had contrasting fortunes on Friday nas Belgium impressed in winning 3-0 at Serbia whilst Scotland suffered a 2-1 defeat to Wales. Look for Belgium to showcase their dominance by netting in both halves which is available at 6/5 (Skybet/paddy Power).

England easily saw off San Marino Friday night though face a much tougher test when they take on Poland on Tuesday night. The visitors (England) are evens (ladbrokes) for victory against a Poland side who have lost just one of their last ten games on their own soil (a Euro 2012 defeat to the Czech Republic). Those who think Poland will get the victory can get 38/11 (pinnacle) and the draw is priced at 12/5 (general). I like the look of both teams to score at evens (Blue Sq/888 Sport/william hill). This result would have paid in six of the last nine meetings between these sides.

Wales earned manager Chris Coleman some breathing space with their 2-1 victory over Scotland thanks in large part to Gareth Bale. It is 284/21 (pinnacle) a Wales victory in Croatia which is not a price I would be rushing to get involved with. The Welsh have won just two of their last ten away games (with one of these coming at Lichtenstein). The home victory is 4/11 (Blue Sq/888 Sport) while the draw is 135/29 (Pinnacle). I like the look of both teams to score here which has paid in eight of the last ten Croatia games. The Welsh are leaky at the back though carry a scoring threat on the break in Gareth Bale. It is 11/8 (bet365/boylesports/william hill) that both teams score and this looks a decent price.

Life as Northern Ireland manager does not get any easier for Michael O’Neill as his Northern Irish side travel to Portugal. It is 1/8 (boylesports/BWin) a home victory which seems hard to argue against. Portugal will be hungry to bounce back after defeat to Russia and I like the look of them to win to nil at 8/13 (Skybet/paddy Power). Portugal have kept a clean sheet in six of their last ten home games and in three of their last four. Northern Ireland meanwhile have netted just once in their last six games.

The Republic of Ireland suffered a comprehensive defeat to Germany on Friday night which lead many to speculate on the future of Giovanni Trapattoni. Luckily for the Italian the Faroe Islands are next though they did cause Sweden many problems in their last game. It is a long time since the Republic hammered someone and I am not convinced that they will do so here. You can get 11/9 (Pinnacle) the Faroes at +1.25 on the Asian Handicap. The Republic have won by two goals or more in just two of the last 13.

The best bet of the other games is Switzerland to win at Iceland. The Swiss have won four of their last six (including a victory over Germany) while Iceland have won just three of their last nine. The Swiss are worth siding with at 7/8 (Pinnacle) to emerge with all three points.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Belgium to beat Scotland 4/11 (general)
SILVER: Both teams to score Croatia v Wales, 11/8 (bet365/boylesports/William Hill)
BRONZE: Switzerland to beat Norway, 7/8 (Pinnacle)
