It`s no secret that Liverpool have been struggling to live up to the heights of last season and manager Brendan Rodgers will know that pressure will be mounting if the club fail to take anything away from their trip to Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers. Harry Redknapp`s team currently sit bottom of the Premier League on goal difference from Newcastle United and Burnley and home games are starting to become a must win if they are to avoid the drop.

With QPR in such bad form it`s unsurprising that Liverpool come in to the match as 4/6 favourites with bet365 to leave London with all three points. Having said that, the team news for the away team is not great, with the announcement that key striker Daniel Sturridge is out for what looks like a month and will therefore miss this match. With Liverpool`s other strikers misfiring in front of goal, this will come as a huge blow and heaps the pressure on controversial Italian striker Mario Balotelli, who has yet to score a league goal for the club. If Liverpool are to come good in this game then Balotelli will need to perform and he is 5/1 with paddypower to score the first goal of the game. The absence of Strurridge may also provide an opportunity for the former Southampton striker Rickie Lambert and he available at 11/2 with ladbrokes to be the player who breaks the deadlock in this one. Of course, captain Steven Gerrard will try to lead from the front and having retired from international should be fresh, making the odds of 11/4 from bet365 for midfielder to score at any time a tempting bet.

Despite suffering some heavy losses on the road, especially to Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, QPR have picked up all four of their points so far this season at home and do look a slightly different proposition at Loftus Road than they do away. A recent 1-0 home win against Sunderland shows that they are capable of winning games and come in at 5/1 to win this one with betfred. Keeping in mind that Liverpool have only managed one away win out of three attempts so far this season, including a 3-1 defeat at West Ham and QPR boss Harry Redknapp may start to fancy his chances of getting a result. Liverpool also have a big European tie against Real Madrid to look forward to in mid-week and it may prove difficult for them not to have at least one eye on that game.

If QPR are to win this one, they will be looking towards striker Charlie Austin to get the goals and he is 8/1 with SkyBet to get the game`s first goal. Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas has yet to really feature for his new club but a recent return to fitness and two goals for his country in their 3-0 win over Peru during the international break make the 14/1 for him to score the first goal and the 9/2 for him to score at any time, both with bet365, tempting bets.

Liverpool have scored two or more goals against QPR in their last three visits to Loftus Road and they way QPR have been defending this season it would come as little shock if that were to happen again. With Liverpool also struggling to keep a clean sheet recently, the 8/11 offered by BetVictor for there to be over 2.5 goals in the game is worth a closer look as is both teams to score and Liverpool to win at 9/4 with ladbrokes.
