Arsenal v Sunderland: Despite the loss of Robin Van Persie Arsenal will still be hopeful of starting the season with a good result against a Sunderland side they have lost just one of their last 17 league games against. Arsenal are 4/9 (BetVictor/william hill/32 Red) for all three points, but this looks a little short to be getting involved in. The Gunners have not won any of their last three league home games and I have decided to look at other markets. I think the option here is to wait for team news and to see if Theo Walcott is passed fit. If he his then get on him at 12/5 (Skybet) to score at any anytime as he should be presented with a number of scoring opportunities in the new Arsenal formation.

Fulham v Norwich: Fulham have not lost any of their last ten against Norwich and will be hopeful of three points to start this season. 17/20 (BetVictor/william hill) might appeal to some, but is a little short for me and instead I prefer a play on the anytime scorer market. Robert Snodgrass has played just off the striker Grant Holt in pre-season in a 4-5-1 formation and got into some dangerous positions at 7/1 (Bwin) and the Scot looks a big price in the anytime scorer market.

QPR v Swansea: QPR are somewhat of a bogey team to Swansea with the Swans having not won any of their previous 19 visits to West London. I think this could be an open game and I am backing both teams to score which is available at 10/11 with william hill/boylesports.

Reading v Stoke: Odds of 13/9 (32 Red) on the home side are hard to pass up. Stoke have won none of their last nine Premier League away games while Reading have won eight and lost none of their last nine at the Madejski.

West Brom v Liverpool: This looks like being a tight game between two sides under new managership and I like the 19/10 (BWin) that it is locked at 0-0 at half time.

West Ham v Aston Villa: My bet of the weekend in the top flight is Aston Villa in the draw no bet market at 16/11 with 32red. West Ham did not have the greatest home record in the Championship and Villa under Lambert will be a much tougher opponents than last season.

5:30pm Newcastle v Tottenham: Newcastle and Tottenham promised to serve up a tea-time treat and both sides have a wealth of scoring options, take the 8/11 (bet365) that both teams score.

Wigan v Chelsea: Wigan have lost just two of their last 11 Premier League games and lost just one of the last eight at the DW stadium, Martinez men are 6/4 (Skybet/betfred) in the double chance market and this offers great appeal.

Man City v Southampton: Southampton could not have asked for a tougher start to the season and should put this game down to experience, I like the 8/5 that Coral are offering on Man City to win by three or more goals.

Everton v Man Utd: Man Utd have had a very successful transfer window, but so too have Everton and I expect the home side to be difficult to beat here bearing in mind they have won seven of their last eight home games. Take Everton/draw on the double chance market which is evens with BWin as not many sides will get anything from Goodison this season.
