A small number of games take place in the Football League this midweek. Here is our guide to the best of the bets from these games.

In the Championship Millwall take on Blackburn in a game that could have huge implications at the bottom of the table. The Lions currently sit in 17th place while Rovers are 20th. The London side have 55 points from 42 games while the Lancashire side have 53 points from 43 games. Wolves are currently third bottom on 51 points so a win here is crucial if either of these sides wants to put some distance between themselves and the relegation places. Millwall are the 11/8 (Coral) favourites to win the game as they seek to put an end to a run of form that has seen them win just one of their last six in all competitions. At home they have won just one of their last seven in the league, losing five of these. Rovers meanwhile have lost each of their last six in the league away from home and do not appeal at 12/5 (BetVictor) while the draw can be backed at 5/2 (bet365). The bet here looks like being NO in the both teams to score market at evens (Skybet/paddy Power/BWin). Rovers have failed to score in five of their last six away games while Millwall have to failed to score in four of their last seven league home games. In addition when these two sides met in the FA Cup at this ground this season the game finished without a goal.

Three games are scheduled to take place in League One on Tuesday night though remarkably none of them are expected to have any big implications on the promotion and relegation issues. Sheffield United are away to Crewe in a game that has a little importance for the Blades as they can move from sixth to fourth in the play-off places. United are 13/10 (Coral) for victory at Crewe. The hosts have lost each of their last four and have not won any of their last nine meetings with United. I would expect the Blades to win here though at 13/10 I think they look a little short especially considering their 3-0 defeat at Portsmouth. Preston under Simon Grayson are ending the season well taking ten points from their last four games. The bet here in this game is to side with Jeffrey Monakana in the scorer markets. He has netted in the last two games yet can be still be backed at 11/1 (bet365) to score first or 15/4 (bet365) in the anytime scorer market. Oldham boss Lee Johnson has done a good job at moving them away from relegation and they have won the last three games in a row. I think they could be worth siding with at 15/8 (general) to get all three points from their visit to Shrewsbury. The home side have won just two of their last ten games so side with the Latics here.

Tuesday night also sees the start of the Conference Premier play-offs with Kidderminster the 15/8 (Stan James/Coral) favourites to gain promotion having just missed out on the title by two points to Mansfield. Grimsby who ended the season with a ten game unbeaten run are next in the market at 10/3 (william hill) while Newport who finished third are also available at this price. Wrexham are the outsiders of the four at 7/2 (bet365/betway).

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Oldham to beat Shrewsbury, 15/8 (general)
SILVER: NO in both teams to score Millwall v Blackburn, evs (Skybet/paddy Power/BWin)
BRONZE: Jeffrey Monakana to score, first 11/1 (Bet365), anytime 15/4 (Bet365)
