Premier League

West Brom and Norwich meet at the Hawthorns on Saturday (15:00) in a battle between two sides out of form. The Baggies have won just one of their last eight games while Norwich have won just two of their last nine. These two sides are looking over the shoulder as Palace and Sunderland are starting to get their act together and both need the three points on offer.

Norwich have failed to win 25 of their last 28 away matches in the Premier League and a side that has shipped 22 goals in their last five away games offer no appeal at 37/10 (sportingbet). The Canaries have three wins from the last four meetings between these sides though it is the Baggies who are the more likely winners. The amount of draws West Brom have recorded (six from their last 12) means I would be a little wary of taking them at 10/11 (CORAL) while this game to finish all square is available at 11/4 (BETVICTOR).

Shane Long has scored three times in his last four games and he will fancy his chances against the Canaries backline. Long has a good record against the Canaries netting five times in ten appearances and he can be backed at 2/1 (bet365) to score anytime. Gary Hooper who has netted twice in his last four and can be backed at 3/1 (SKYBET) to score at anytime.

The recommend bet is to take this game to have over 3.5. We have mentioned before about the terrible Norwich backline but the Baggies are shipping goals also. Four of the last five Norwich away games have gone over 3.5 goals with the other having three. Four of the last six West Brom games have gone over 3.5 with the other two having three and two. This means that the odds of 9/4 (william hill) are worth an interest.

The live game on Saturday evening (17:30, SKY SPORTS) sees Sunderland entertain Tottenham. You have to feel a little sorry for the Black Cats who have played seven home games this season in the Premier League and six of them have been against sides in the top nine, this fixture with Tottenham (who sit in sixth) makes it seven from eight.

Sunderland are showing signs of improvement under Gus Poyet with three wins from their last four in front of their own fans with a narrow defeat in a seven goal thriller against Chelsea on Wednesday night. You can get 7/2 (GENERAL) on a home victory in this live encounter. Tottenham are the visitors and although they got a point against Man United and a win against Fulham I am not convinced that they have turned the corner. The game against Fulham could have gone either way while before the United game they had not won any of their last four. I think the odds of 37/40 (BETVICTOR) look too short even if you consider that the North London side are unbeaten in their last six meetings with the North East side.

I like the idea of taking Sunderland to get something from the game because of that home form. To do this I will take them and the draw in the double chance market at 20/19 (BWIN).

I also like the look of YES in the both teams to score market at odds of evens (boylesports) . This bet would have paid out in five of the last six home games with only the normally very prolific Man City stopping it being six from six. Tottenham meanwhile have scored and conceded in each of their last two Premier League games.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Sunderland/draw double chance v Tottenham, 20/19 (BWIN)
SILVER: YES in both teams to score Sunderland v Tottenham, evens (boylesports)
BRONZE: West Brom v Norwich to have over 3.5 goals, 9/4 (william hill)
