Bayern Munich face what is probably their toughest match of the season so far when they travel to the eternal city of Rome to face AS Roma. Although the German champions sit top of the group on six points and are in spectacular form in the Bundesliga, they have yet to convince in Europe`s top premier competition and this will be a stern test of their credentials.

Recording a narrow 1-0 victory away to CSKA Moscow in their previous Champions League fixture, Pep Guardiola`s team are 19/20 favourites going in to this match with bet365. It will be an interesting test of Bayern Munich`s game because Roma are also a team who like to have possession of the ball and genuine, clear cut chances could be at a premium. This makes the importance of having a good striker huge and Bayern have that in Robert Lewandowski, who is 5/1 with paddypower to score the first goal of the game. However, there has been discussion that Lewandowski could find himself on the bench for this one and therefore, other players will have to step up to the mark, with Thomas Mueller available at 6/1 with Coral and Mario Gotze, who is in good goal scoring form, at 8/1 with ladbrokes to grab the opening goal.

Roma come in to the match on the back of a good passing display away to Manchester City, which earned them a point and more recently a 3-0 league victory over Chievo. The away point at Manchester City, coming from behind to level it at 1-1 will have given Roma the confidence that they can compete at the very top level this season and they are 3/1 with SkyBet to come away with a vital three points from this one. Veteran forward Francesco Totti got the vequalising goal at the Etihad Stadium and the Italian is 9/1 with paddypower to get the first goal in this game. A further threat to the Bayern defence will come through the pace of Gervinho. The Ivory Coast winger missed the game on the weekend but should make a return for this one and is just the type of player who can take advantage of gaps left at the back by Bayern. Gervinho is 10/1 with paddypower to get the first goal of the match and 10/3 to score at any time.

Roma have yet to lose a competitive home match all season and have only conceded one goal, which was in the 5-1 thrashing of CSKA Moscow on match day one of the Champions League. Furthermore, Bayern Munich have not conceded a goal in eight matches and will be looking to stretch that record at the Stadio Olimpico. With that in mind, it`s hard to envisage there being more than two goals in this match and under 2.5 goals can be backed at 11/10 with paddypower. With little amount of genuine goal action during the course of the game, SkyBet offer 6/5 on the `no` market for both teams to score. This has actually come through in eight of Bayern Munich`s last twelve matches and also five of Roma`s last nine, so there is some form in this.

With a tight game in prospect, the home support could just tip things in favour of Roma and the Italian`s are 14/1 with Coral to come away with a 1-0 win.
