Premier League preview and odds: AFC Bournemouth vs Everton

September 24 , 2016 15:00pm - Vitality Stadium

Premier League

Bournemouth will go in search of their second straight home win on Saturday afternoon when they welcome unbeaten Everton to the South Coast in the Premier League,

Tough start but some positive signs for the Cherries

Surviving in the Premier League as a newly-promoted side is a tough enough task but progressing to the next level and becoming an established top-flight name provides a different set of challenges altogether. Clubs in this situation walk a very fine line, with the spectre of relegation always looming after a few bad results.

Bournemouth are currently at this stage in their evolution and will be looking to find a way to consolidate their Premier League status for another year. Coach Eddie Howe has developed a style of play that has proved to be successful and will be hoping to at least improve at last year`s point`s tally.

The Cherries have amassed four points from their first five games and are currently residing in 17th place in the table, just one point above the danger zone. However, they have been playing well and have remained relatively competitive, the glaring exception being last week`s 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.

In their last home game, they edged 1-0 past a difficult West Bromwich Albion side and will face another tough challenge when the team from Liverpool make the long journey south this weekend.

Meanwhile, Everton are riding high after a strong start in the league which has seen them rise to second place in the table with five games played. They come into this game on the back of four-straight league wins but were undone on home soil by Championship side Norwich in the their midweek League Cup game.

The Merseyside team will be looking to build further momentum by grabbing their third-straight win on the road. Boss Ronald Koeman led Southampton to a six-place finish last year and will be looking for a similar result in charge of the Toffees this term.

Team news

The home side will have a full strength side to choose from on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to operate without the injured group of Darren Gibson, Jamie McCarthy, Muhamed Bešić, Matthew Pennington and Tyias Browning.

Betting odds and tips

Both teams like play with the ball on the floor and a flowing game can be expected. That means there could be goals on the agenda.
