Premier League preview and odds: Swansea City vs Manchester City

Swansea City will look to ease the pressure on under-fire boss Francesco Guidolin this weekend when they welcome a so-far perfect Manchester City side to the Liberty Stadium for this Premier League clash.

Out of sorts Swans looking to upset title cont6enders

Swansea City started the season on a positive note, beating new kids on the block Burnley 1-0 away from home, but things have rapidly downhill since then. A run of three defeats in four games, with a 2-2 draw at home to Chelsea the only glimmer of light, has left the Welsh club lumbering in 15th place with a tally of just four points.

Much of their problems can be attributed to their misfiring strike force, although a lack of service hasn`t helped Fernando Llorente, Modou Barrow or Borja Baston to get off the mark. In fact, three of their four goals have come from midfielder Leroy Fer with Gylfi Sigurdhsson adding the other.

Just to add further complications to their current predicament, the Swans must now face-off against the only team yet to have dropped a point in the league. When the teams met in the League Cup in midweek, it was the Manchester club who prevailed by a 2-1 score-line.

It was suggested that Pep Guardiola might struggle to adjust to wild and frantic nature of the Premier League but that has been far from the case. The Spanish coach has hit the ground running and is already making the best of the considerable tools at his disposal.

City have won every competitive match that they have played under the former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss and are now firmly established as title favourites. They have scored more goals than any other team (15) and have conceded just four times.

Team news

Nathan Dyer is the only absentee for the home side.

Meanwhile, the visitors will have to cope without Nolito, who is suspended, and Vincent Kompany who is out injured once again.

Betting odds and tips

Manchester City won 2-1 when these teams met just three days ago in the League Cup. Raheem Sterling, Kevin de Bruyne, Claudio Bravo and Fernandinho were among the players rested for that game but all four can be expected to return on Saturday. Lethal front man Sergio Aguero will also be back after serving a three-match suspension.

With the visitors at nearly full strength, the signs are ominous for the home team.
