France will host Brazil in an international friendly on Thursday in what has potential to be one of the most entertaining matches of the week. France are currently ranked in eighth position in the FIFA World Rankings and are gearing up to have next season`s European Championships on their doorstep, they winning the chance to host the competition. They can be backed at 9/2 with most bookmakers to scoop the title for the third time in their history.

Brazil currently occupy sixth position in the FIFA World Rankings, only two positions but a full 200 points better off than their European opponents. They are currently limbering up for the 2015 Copa America, the South American football championships. This year the competition will be held in Chile with Brazil being one of the 12 countries competing for the trophy. The tournament will be held in late June and will continue into July.

Didier Deschamps` team`s home advantage means that they are the favourites for Thursday`s clash even though they are facing a statistically better team. The French are available at a price of 31/20 (Betvictor) to see off Brazil. The visitors, led manager Dunga, can be supported at the best price of 12/5. That price can be found at betfair. Meanwhile, 19/10 (Betvictor, Skybet) says that the match will end a draw after 90 minutes.

France have played five matches since September 2014. With three wins and two draws, they are currently unbeaten in all of these friendly games. The one-time World Cup victors have scored a total of eight goals in these encounters but have only twice scored more than one goal in a match. The first time was in a 2-1 home win over Portugal with the second occasion being in a 3-0 away win against Armenia. Both Coral and Spreadex have 13/8 on Deschamps` men being able to hit over 1.5 goals against Brazil whilst Betvictor`s 7/4 says that they will score exactly one goal for the fourth time in this period of games.

Having scored two goals each in these five encounters, Paul Pogba and Antoine Griezmann are their country`s top goalscorers for this period. The former scored the first goal in a 1-1 draw away in Serbia before doubling his side`s lead in the win over Portugal. He will, however, be out of Thursday`s game after sustaining a thigh injury.

Griezmann, on the other hand, will be available to play. The 24-year-old Athletico Madrid striker scored the last goal in his country`s victory over Armenia before grabbing their equaliser as they drew 1-1 with Albania. As a result, the player can be backed at odds of 10/1 (boylesports) to be the last person to hit the back of the net for the third time in France`s last six games.

Brazil have also undertaken five friendlies since September 2014. They are also currently unbeaten having ruled supreme in all five matches. What is even more dazzling is the fact that Dunga`s men have only conceded one goal in this period, that being in their last game - a 2-1 win over Austria away from home. Could there be value in Coral`s 4/1 on Brazil beating France by any number of goals to nil?

The visitors have scored 13 times in their last five encounters, only once failing to score more than one goal in a match, that being in their 1-0 victory over Ecuador back in September. Two-to-one (Coral) says that Brazil will continue their high scoring streak by putting in over 1.5 goalsagainst France.

Having scored all four goals against Japan (4-0) and two away at Turkey (4-0), Neymar is his country`s top scorer for this period. The Barcelona star can be backed at 17/2 (bet365, ladbrokes, paddy Power) to score two or more goals on Thursday.
