Liverpool will be hoping to make ground on the top four this afternoon as they travel to West Bromwich Albion`s Hawthorns. The Reds currently have a game in hand over all of those sides occupying a Champions League position and could move to within four points of them should they claim a victory over West Brom and Manchester City, in fourth, lose to Aston Villa. Failing to beat the Baggies would see fifth placed Liverpool liable to be usurped by either Tottenham or Southampton, those two teams playing each other in the early top tier kick-off. Whilst West Brom are not yet safe from relegation, they are just four points from the magical 40 point marker and won`t be too concerned about sliding into the bottom three. Beating Liverpool would put them on 39 points, just two behind Everton in 12th. Losing to the Merseyside club could see them fall below Newcastle and into 14th, potentially ending the day only five points clear of the drop zone.

The two sides have only met once this season, this being in the reverse Premier League fixture at Anfield back in October. It was the hosts who ran out the 2-1 winners on this occasion though it took them until the dying seconds of the first half to break the deadlock. This goal was hit home by midfielder Adam Lallana.

Dejan Lovren gave away a penalty to the visitors just 10 minutes into the second 45. This spot-kick was coolly dispatched by the Baggies` Saido Berahino to put them level. This parity would last all of five minutes as Jordan Henderson bagged the last goal of the match to see Liverpool claim all three points. It is worth noting that this result came when West Brom were still under the stewardship of former manager Alan Irvine, he being replaced by Tony Pulis later on in the season.

Bet365 have the best price of 17/2 on the Reds winning by two goals to one once again. Alternatively, all of bet365, boylesports, Skybet and Stan James have 11/4 on Brendan Rodgers` side winning by a one goal margin. Should you fancy Lallana to grab the first goal of the match once again, he can be backed at 10/1 at a number of established bookmakers.

Indeed it is Liverpool who are the favourites to do the double over the Black Country club. Despite their away disadvantage, the visitors can be picked up at the best price of 21/20 from Coral to secure all three points once again this afternoon. Fans of the underdog can claim 16/5 (betfair, betfred, Betvictor, Totesport) on a home victory whilst a draw is available at 13/5 (Numerous).

Pulis` hosts` 2-0 win over Crystal Palace last time out ended their run of three defeats on the trot. They will be hoping that they can secure a victory over Liverpool to put an end to their back-to-back home losses. Prior to these two Hawthorns games, Albion`s home record was impressive, securing four straight victories without conceding a goal. Coral have 13/2 on the Baggies refinding that sort of form and earning themselves a win to nil this afternoon.

Liverpool claimed a 2-0 victory over Newcastle last time out to end their run of two defeats. Prior to their 4-1 defeat at Arsenal`s Emirates Stadium, Liverpool had not conceded a goal on the road in the top tier of English football since December.

Despite this Liverpool have not scored more than two goals in an away match in the Premier League since the beginning of December. boylesports have 2/9 on the Reds scoring under 2.5 goals this afternoon.
