Andy Murray will look to kick off his Miami Masters campaign in style in his second round match with American Donald Young. Murray is a two-time Miami Masters winner following his successes in 2009 and 2013. The Dunblaine-born star has also finished the tournament as runner-up, losing out to Novak Djokovic in 2012 in straight sets (6-1, 7-6). Young, contrarily, has appeared in the tournament just three times. By making it through to the second stage of the competition, he has equalled his best ever finish. Last year the 25-year-old beat Argentinean Carlos Berlocq 6-2, 6-2, before exiting at the hands of John Isner (6-7, 6-3, 6-4).

Young managed to equal his best result when his 2015 first round opponent, Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei, retired when losing 5-1 in the first set.

When they go head-to-head tomorrow, this will be the sixth time that the two men have met on court. The Scot has managed to pick up four of the previous five encounters whilst Young has only won once, this being in the pair`s first meeting back in the Indian Wells tournament of 2011. Young took the first set of that second round match on a tie-break before securing the second set by six games to three. boylesports have priced Young up at 18/1 to progress through to the third round of the Miami Masters by recording a straight sets victory.

Since that upset, the two men have played a total of 12 sets, the American winning just one. As a result, Murray can be picked up at 3/10 (bet365, boylesports, Coral, Stan James) to walk away the straight sets victor whilst his rival is a 11/4 chance with william hill to win a set. Young will be buoyed by the fact that he did seal the third set in the pair`s last face off in a Great Britain vs America round robin match this year. The tie ended 6-1, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 on the hard court surface.

Disregard those sets that he has been able to win against Murray and Young has never been able to grab more than three games in a single set, meaning that there may be value in backing Murray to take one of the first two sets by either 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 or 6-3. For example, Boylesports` 25/1 says that the 27-year-old will be able to record a bagel win in the opening set whilst it is 7/1 (boylesports), 9/2 (boylesports) and 7/2 (Coral) on Murray winning the first by a score of 6-1, 6-2 or 6-3 respectively.

Indeed as a result of the previous whitewashings, Murray is the strong favourite to progress through to the third round of the Miami Masters. Both 888sport and unibet have the best price of 1/11 on the 6`3" star winning the tie by any means tomorrow. Those who favour backing the outsider can get a Young victory at a price of 15/2. This is available at paddy Power.

World number 44 Young`s best finish so far this year was when the beaten finalist in Florida`s Delray Beach competition. The Chicago-born star came so close to scooping his first ever ATP title but fell to a straight sets defeat against Ivo Karlovic, losing both by six games to three.

Two-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray came close to putting his hands on a third but lost out in the final of this year`s Australian Open to Novak Djokovic. The Serbian world number one saw him off in four sets (6-7, 7-6, 3-6, 0-6). Murray failed to get his revenge in the semi-final of the Indian Wells competition (2-6, 3-6) just two months later.
