Three weeks in and just three teams have won all three of their games in the NFL. The Houston Texans, the Atlanta Falcons and the Arizona Cardinals. It is the Texans who are the SuperBowl favourites at 5/1 (general). The Texans were tipped up here before the start of the season and we have seen nothing that makes us change our mind about them. If you have yet to get involved though then take caution 5/1 is a little short on a side who have not had the toughest of opening games. Miami and Jacksonville are two teams who will struggle to break .500 this season while Denver are not yet clicking under Peyton Manning. It is not a knock on the Texans as you can only beat what it is in front of you just for me I would rather not be on a side at 5/1 who will have tougher tests ahead.

San Francisco are out to 8/1 (Skybet/ladbrokes) following their defeat to the Minnesota Vikings. I think that looks better value as I’m not going to rush to abandon the 49ers after one defeat. All credit to Minnesota as they played exceptionally well in that game and many teams will have taken note of their tactics. To me it will be that kind of season where teams will beat other teams that you do not expect them to beat. Look out for this as bookmakers might be prone to over-react from one result. Just remember the season is a marathon not a sprint (cliche box ticked).

The other two sides to have started the season 3-0 are Atlanta and Arizona. Are these sides legit? In the Falcons case I am going to say yes. If you do not have them on side yet then you really should. Not until week 8 do Atlanta face a real test and by that stage they could be 6-0. I don’t think the 9/1 (Blue Sq/You Win) are offering will still be available by then. As for the Cardinals I am still undecided though I think the odds bookmakers are offering on them is a good price. Maybe the Cardinals will fade away through the season though the 3-0 start has seen them beating some legit teams (Eagles, Patriots) and the next four games seen winnable. I can only see the price coming in so take either the 28/1 with Bodog (no each-way) or the 25/1 (general) with each-way options. I would also take the 4/1 (pinnacle) are offering on them to win their division. True they have to compete against the 49ers however the schedule favours the Cardinals a lot more over the next few weeks and the market offers potential to lay.

Thursday night football features probably the most one-sided contest since David took on Goliath expect the Browns weapons are more pea-shooters than rocks. It is will be a shock if the Ravens don’t extend their season record to 3-1 and their record against the Browns under John Harbaugh (which is currently 8 wins and no losses). Baltimore are just 2/11 (Coral/pinnacle) which is a little short as they have the turnaround of playing late Sunday night and now again Thursday. I think the best bet in this game is to back against Cleveland scoring many points. The Browns have grabbed more than 15 points on just one of their last six meetings with Ravens. Blue SQ/Stan James/888 Sport are offering 10/11 that the Browns score under 15.5 which I like.

We will return towards the weekend for a full preview of the week, unless like the Refs we are replaced.
