Top of the table Bristol City will be looking to get their season back on track at Peterborough`s London Road on Friday (28th November). Steve Cotterill`s league leaders have fallen to two defeats in their last two matches, failing to score in either 1-0 loss against fellow promotion contenders Swindon Town and Preston North End. Posh are similarly out of form having failed to record a League One win since the middle of October.

The home side`s last win came at London Road against Barnsley with Conor Washington and Marcus Maddison contributing goals to see the team come from behind and ultimately sustain their second place league position. A solitary point from a maximum of 15 has seen Darren Ferguson`s men slip down to eighth place, seven points from their previous spot in the automatic places.

November began with a 2-1 defeat at home to relegation candidates Scunthorpe United. Washington provided the equaliser in the second half following Luke Williams` opener only for Almeida Santos to put the ball past his own keeper in the 64th minute. A goalless draw away at mid-table Walsall followed an FA Cup win against League Two strugglers Carlisle United, though Peterborough racked up their third home defeat of the season, losing 2-1 against Swindon last time out. A late goal from Joe Newell reduced the deficit in the 90th minute.

To United`s credit, they have scored in all but one of their home fixtures since the opening day of the campaign meaning that there`s value to be had on bet365`s 2/7 on their opponent`s not keeping a clean sheet. Coral also make Boro 19/4 to win to nil whilst Ferguson`s men are 3/10 (boylesports) to score over 0.5 times, something they have done in 14 of their 18 league matches.

Prior to their consecutive small margin defeats, Bristol City were undefeated in League One. The Robins have had a busy November being engaged in FA Cup and Johnstone`s Paint Trophy ties, both of which they won 2-1. Prior to these secondary clashes, Cotterill`s men kept only their fourth clean sheet of the season at home to Oldham in a 1-0 victory - perhaps another reason to look at the `Peterborough - Total Goals` market. Kieran Agard grabbed the only goal of the match thanks to a 57 minute free-kick routine.

This November opener and the subsequent cup successes preceded the successive failures at their promotion rivals, only the second and third times City have ended a match without scoring. As a result, the Robins are 2/7 (boylesports) to hit over 0.5 goals themselves with the odds of their being three goals in the clash an attractive 16/5 with Betbright and Bwin. Despite the Robins` five point gap being whittled away to a one point buffer, the table toppers are the 8/5 (Betvictor) favourites to win away from home. Most bookmakers are offering 12/5 on a home victory, whilst a draw can be backed at 15/8 with both betfred and Totesport.

Ferguson could give loan signing Aaron Mclean his second start in as many games after re-joining the club on loan from Bradford City last week. The 31 year old failed to score despite starting the Swindon clash, though grabbed 82 goals for the club from 2007 to 2011. He is 21/10 (Betbright, betfair, Coral) to score at any time on Friday.

Also available for selection is this week`s Welling loan signing Harry Beautyman. The short-term deal is essentially a trial for midfielder Beautyman with the Cambridgeshire side looking to make the transfer permanent, should the 22 year old make a big enough impression on the club`s bigwigs.

Ex-Posh man Mark Little has returned to the Bristol City squad following his hamstring injury and will be looking to make a mark on his former employers.
