The King is dead, long live the King could be the phrase echoed around Philadelphia on Thursday night (01:25,SKY) when Andy Reid takes his new side to his old as the Chiefs travel to the Eagles.

Reid spent fourteen years as boss of Philadelphia leading the Eagles to nine play-off appearances, six NFC East titles, five conference championship games and a Super Bowl berth. Now though he is the playcaller for Kansas City who have made a promising start to the season with victories over the Cowboys and the Jaguars. The Chiefs just won two games in the whole of last season and Reid and quarterback Alex Smith have been the two men behind the change in fortunes. Kansas City are 8/5 (william hill) for the victory here though they have failed to win any of their three previous against the Eagles.

Philadelphia have Chip Kelly in charge and his high speed offence is certainly proving entertaining to watch for Eagles fans. The Eagles opened with a victory over the Redskins before a narrow loss against San Diego and they are 3/5 (betway) for victory. This looks a very tough game to call between two developing sides and bookmakers agree with the point spread a narrow three points. Those looking for a bet on this game might want to consider a look at the anytime touchdown scorer market. The Eagles have been offence machines under the new Chip Kelly offence grabbing 954 yards and seven touchdowns in their two games. At the time of writing only ladbrokes had priced this market up.

DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy are the main men for the Eagles though both will likely be a short price. At bigger prices Riley Cooper could be the answer. Cooper has already grabbed a touchdown this season and is actually the third most targeted receiver for the Eagles this season so he could be value at best available price.

In terms of the Chiefs Alex Smith has thrown for four touchdowns so far this season with Dwayne Bowe and Jamaal Charles both the main targets for quarterback Alex Smith. Bowe i likely to go off at the bigger price and the player who scored against Dallas last time out will fancy his chances against a side that has conceded 57 points in two games so far.

The outright market for the Super Bowl is headed by Denver at 9/2 (GENERAL). The Broncos were headline selection to finish as number one seed in the AFC at the start of the season and it is a real shame that bet365 have chosen not to keep this market running through the season.

Seattle Seahawks are next in the betting at 13/2 (YOU WIN) while the side they easily beat in gameweek two, the San Francisco 49ers are a 17/2 (SPREADEX) chance. I havet hese three as the top tier.

The Patriots are among the second tier and they are 11/1 (888 SPORT/unibet), Green Bay are 12/1 (GENERAL), Houston 14/1 (GENERAL) and New Orleans 18s (sportingbet).

The best bet in the antepost market though may come in the divisional markets where I like the look of Miami to come out on top of the AFC East at 7/2 (GENERAL). It is a two team battle between them and New England and the Dolphins have impressed more in their two wins (Indianapolis, Cleveland) than the Patriots (Jets and Bills).

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Dwayne Bowe to score a touchdown anytime, best available price
SILVER: Riley Cooper to score a touchdown anytime, best available price
BRONZE: Miami Dolphins to win the AFC East, 7/2 (GENERAL)
