Premier League

Queens Park Rangers will want to banish memories of the final minutes of their last match at home to Liverpool, equalising in the last minute of the game, only to go on and lose in stoppage time as a result of their own free-kick in the opposition half.

On the bright side, despite their struggles in the opening stages of the Premier League season, QPR are currently one point better off than they were at this stage last time they were in the Premier League in 2012/13. Also, analysis of their previous match against Liverpool, shows that QPR were unlucky not to come away from the game with at least a point and although the defending was awful at times, scoring two own goals, the first half performance and the attacking intent shown by the team was good.

Harry Redknapp`s side go into this game at 7/5 with ladbrokes to come away with an important win. To do this, Redknapp will want a similar attacking display as his team showed against Liverpool and one man who was prominent in that match was striker Bobby Zamora, who is 7/1 with BetVictor to score the opening goal. However, the player who really turned the game on it`s head was Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas, who came off the bench to score twice and can be backed at 9/1 with paddypower to get the first goal and 10/3 with the same firm to score at any time.

Aston Villa enjoyed a good start to the Premier League season, recording excellent away wins at both Liverpool and Stoke City but the fact that they were struggling to get shots in on target has finally taken it`s toll, only registering four goals so far this season. Although they have been struggling recently, they have come up against tough, top of the table opposition in those games and this will be one match that manager Paul Lambert will have been waiting for. Aston Villa are available at 12/5 with Coral to take all three points at Loftus Road. The return to the team of striker Christian Benteke will be a huge boost considering their goal scoring problems and the Belgian is 6/1 with ladbrokes to get the opening goal of the game.

QPR have conceded at least two goals in their last five Premier League matches and Aston Villa have conceded at least two in their last four, meaning that defensive frailties could be an issue for both teams and BetVictor offer 23/20 for their to be over 2.5 goals in the game. In addition to this, Aston Villa have lost eight of their last ten away matches in the Premier League and ladbrokes offer 9/2 for a QPR win with both teams to score. Aston Villa have also lost nine of their last ten games that have been played in London, suggesting that they do not travel to the capital very well.

Aston Villa, having suffered in recent matches, would probably be happy to come away from Loftus Road with a point and halt their recent run of defeats. In fact, three of the last four matches between these two teams have finished in draws and this can be backed at 12/5 with boylesports.
