Premier League

Arsenal could move to as high as third with a win against Everton tomorrow, putting them five points clear of Southampton in fifth in the process and cementing their Champions League credentials. Failure to secure all three points at the Emirates in the 4:00 kick-off would see these much sought after Champions League places fall further open with Southampton, Liverpool and Tottenham all still in the hunt for a European place.

Everton have been largely disappointing in the Premier League this season as they try to balance domestic life with their Europa League ambitions. They are the only British club remaining in that competition after the latest round of games. In 14th place following Saturday`s fixtures, the Toffees could move back to 12th with a somewhat unlikely away victory. A loss against the Gunners would see them remain six points from the dreaded drop zone and within the reach of Hull and Sunderland who are two and three points behind respectively.

The two sides have met just the once this season, fighting out a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park in their second games of the campaign. It was a match in which Arsenal had to come from two goals down to retrieve a point out of. Seamus Coleman opened the scoring 20 minutes into the clash before Steven Naismith doubled his side`s advantage just seconds before the half-time whistle.

The game remained at 2-0 until well into the last 10 minutes when Aaron Ramsay pulled one back for Arsene Wenger`s men and Olivier Giroud made sure that they left Liverpool with a point. Another 2-2 draw can be backed at 18/1 at bet365 whilst Coleman is available at 33/1 (bet365, william hill) to be the first goalscorer once again.

Despite this previous draw, it is Arsenal who are the favourites to get the better of the Merseyside club, the Gunners up for offer at odds of 11/18 at Betbright. A second draw between the two teams is the next most likely option according to the bookmakers with a tie currently available for selection at 7/2 with bet365. Most turf accounts see an Everton win as being remarkably unlikely at a price of 11/2.

Arsenal are the most likely victors in this game because they have accumulated the maximum amount of points from their last six home Premier League clashes. Their last top tier defeat at the Emirates came right back in November in a 2-1 loss at the hands of Manchester United.

Three of these results ended with Wenger`s men getting the better of their opponents by a single goal. Betvictor have 14/5 on the Reds beating Roberto Martinez`s men by this margin tomorrow afternoon.

The home side have scored 17 goals throughout this streak with Alexis Sanchez being responsible for four. The Chilean scored the opening goal in two of these encounters and is available at 5/1 with Coral to break the deadlock tomorrow. He bagged a brace in his side`s 3-0 triumph over Stoke and can be backed at 7/1 (Coral) to hit another two or more against Everton.

The Toffees have only picked up three points from their last five Premier League games on the road, losing three of those matches by an amount of goals to nil. betfair, sportingbet and Spreadex have 13/8 on Arsenal winning without conceding tomorrow.

Martinez`s men only scored three goals in these successive matches and these goals came from three different players. The favourite to grab a goal for the away side, however, is Romelu Lukaku following his brace at home to Young Boys in the Europa League. Ten-to-three with 32red says that the Belgian will score past Arsenal at any time.
