American Football Week 4

We are back with week four of your American Football preview and if the season keeps springing the shocks the way it has then I might find myself like the NFL referees, replaced.

The first of three live games this Sunday sees New England at Buffalo. The Patriots have won one and lost two this season which has seen them slip below .500 for the first time in more than nine years. Bookmakers are sticking with the Pats despite two straight losses and they are 18/35 (pinnacle) for victory while the Bills are 180/100 (You Win). The visiting New England have a great record against Buffao winning 20 of the last 22 head-to-head meetings. The best way to play this game is to take the Evens (Skybet) are offering on Wes Welker to score a touchdown at anytime. The absence of Aaron Hernadez has seen Welker receive more of the ball and he grabbed two touchdowns when these sides met last season.

The second live game must have been one of those ties that looked good when selected though as the season has panned out now does look it at all. Green Bay are 4/13 (pinnacle/You Win) to defeat New Orleans. The Saints have had a terrible start to the season and are 0-3. The last place you want to travel when down is to Green Bay especially to a Packers side who will be fired up the refereeing fiasco in their Monday night loss to Seattle. The Saints are conceding an average of 34 points per game and that is against the Redskins, the Chiefs and the Panthers three teams who do not have the offensive capability that the Packers do. Green Bay might not be firing just yet though they have had three difficult games against the Seahawks, Bears and 49ers. Take the 10/11 that BetVictor are offering on the Packers scoring over 31 points.

Sunday night sees the 2-1 New York Giants take on the 2-1 Philadelphia Eagles in one of the games of the weekend. The game looks a real pick-em contest and bookmakers agree making the Eagles 5/6 (general) and the Giants 10/9 (Pinnacle). Though they have home advantage I could not take the Eagles at that price after their physical encounter with the Cardinals last weekend while the Giants had the extra rest of playing in the Thursday night game. It might be worth siding with Andre Brown as the Giants running back has three touchdowns in his last two games and is up against an Eagles side who have allowed their opponents over a 100 rushing yards per game. Brown is a 2/1 (bet365) to score at anytime in this game.

The pick of the bets from the other games is Atlanta to cover the handicap margin of seven against Carolina. New York Giants hammered the Panthers last time out and the Giants are not the team that the Falcons are. By the same token the Falcons stuffed the Chargers last weekend who are a better side than the Panthers.

Monday night sees the Chicago take on Dallas. The Bears are the 48/29 (Pinnacle) to defeat a Cowboys side who have home advantage. I think Dallas might win this though 5/9 (ladbrokes/william hill/You Win) looks like a price not to rush to get involved with. The Cowboys to score under 19 points at 10/11 (general) looks the way to go. The Bears are averaging allowing just 16.7 points a game while the Cowboys are averaging just 15.7 points per game.
