Eight games into the League One season and it is Tranmere who are the shock early pace setters. Ronnie Moore has done a remarkable job building not just a good Tranmere team but an exciting one. Last season Tranmere grabbed just 49 league goals all season, they have grabbed 21 in eight games so far this season. Bookmakers make them 11/1 (william hill) for the title. The team I would recommend an interest in is Notts County at 9/1 (general). Keith Curle has a sensational 61.54 % win record in his 26 games in charge of County. So far this season County are unbeaten in their last five league games and if they beat Sheff Utd this weekend then that price could come in again. Even if they do lose at Bramall Lane then that is no disgrace at all and unless they suffer any key injuries I would be keen to go back in should the price drift out. Carlisle at 12/5 (Stan James) to make the top six also looks a decent bet. Greg Abbott continues to work miracles on a small budget at the club and his side have suffered just two defeats in eight games this season. Losing at the MK Dons and at home to Tranmere are hardly things to panic about. The trip to Brunton Park is not an easy one for many teams and the Cumbrians look worth a little interest at that price. They are 40/1 (boylesports/BetVictor) for the title and 10/1 (general) for promotion.

Moving on to the games this weekend I like the look of Notts County to get something at Sheff Utd. More than likely it will be a point bearing in mind that the home side have drawn four of their last six. County unbeaten in their last six in all competitions are 5/6 (boylesports/Coral) in the draw/victory double chance market which looks very generous. This bet would have paid in each of the last two home games for the Blades. County meanwhile have secured eight from a possible twelve away games in the league this season. This looks the bet of the weekend in League One.

The second best bet in this division is Tranmere to beat Brentford at 13/10 (BetVictor). Tranmere have won all their league home games this season scoring 12 goals and conceding just one in the process. Brentford are yet to win away in any of their four league games this season, drawing three. The price on the home win is very generous bearing in mind how much form they are in. With the firepower at their disposal the home side should be able to breakdown the Bees.

One value bet that I like the look of is on Crawley defender Kyle McFadzean to get amongst the goals. McFadzean has netted in the last two games for Crawley and is a massive 25/1 (bet365/paddy Power) to score the opener and 10/1 (paddy Power) to score anytime. Their oppponents Carlisle have kept a clean sheet in just one of their last six home league games.

Those who like goals betting on both teams to score should take a look at the game involving Bournemouth and Walsall. All four of the home games that the Cherries have played in the league this season have finished as score draws while Walsall have scored in each of their four away games in the league this season. The evens on both teams to score with boylesports and Stan James is worth taking.
