Palace Travel To Swansea After Liverpool Triumph

Premier League

An unlikely victory at home to Liverpool gave Crystal Palace a much needed boost last weekend and they`ll be looking to log back-to-back wins as they travel to Swansea City`s Liberty Stadium tomorrow (29th November). Their victory against the Merseysiders was the 15th-placed side`s first three points in six games.

In contrast, Gary Monk`s Swansea City have managed to sustain their fine start to the season drawing at Europa League hopefuls Everton, beating Arsenal and putting up a fight against current champions Manchester City in their last three matches. The Welsh club are currently seventh in the top tier of English football and one measly point away from the dizzy heights of the Champions League places. They have won six of their eight home fixtures in all competitions this season.

November began with the Swans recording their goalless draw at Goodison Park before hitting two past the Gunners a week later. Both Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis scored in the final 15 minutes of the match-up to steal a victory from the jaws of defeat after Alexis Sanchez`s opener.

Wilfried Bony`s ninth minute deadlock breaker could not stop Monk`s men from leaving empty-handed at the Etihad Stadium however. Stefan Jovetic and Yaya Toure were on form for City as the hosts came back to win 2-1.

Last weekend, Neil Warnock`s Palace put three past Liverpool to pile more pressure on Reds` boss Brendan Rodgers. Rickie Lambert`s second minute effort saw the Pools take the lead before Dwight Gayle equalised just after the fifteen minute marker. Late goals from Joe Ledley and captain Mile Jedinak rounded off a fine Eagles` performance.

This victory ended a streak of back-to-back November losses against Sunderland (3-1) and Manchester United (1-0). The London side`s last point came prior to these defeats as they were denied a win by West Bromwich Albion despite taking a 2-0 lead at half time.

Brede Hangeland scored a header and Jedinak converted a penalty to see Palace with a two goal buffer before Victor Anichebe and Saido Berahino shared the spoils for the Baggies.

Australian Jedinak has bagged four goals in the league this season and is in relatively good form. The 30-year-old can be backed at 8/1 (32red, 888sport, unibet) to hit the back of the net at any time. Odds of 22/1 (Bwin) say he won`t score first.

Despite the Eagles` Liverpool success story, it is the Swans who are the 5/6 (boylesports, Bwin, Coral, william hill) favourites for the clash. Betvictor are currently offering 21/5 on an away triumph whilst a draw can be picked up at 11/4 with bet365 and boylesports.

Perhaps such lack of faith in Warnock`s side is due to the absences of defenders Damien Delaney and Adrian Mariappa who are currently out after sustaining respective calf and knee injuries.

It would be foolish, however, to overlook the returns of the attacking trio of Frazier Campbell, James McArthur and Wilfried Zaha. On-loan Manchester United star, Zaha, who has been particularly impressive in his second stint at the London club, returns after picking up a foot injury.

McArthur will have been disappointed to miss both Scotland`s international fixtures after coming a-cropper with a calf issue and will be looking to get back to full fitness before heading out to face Swansea. Campbell will be pushing for a start following his dropping out of the first team, though may find it hard to dislodge any of the attacking players who contributed to the win last time out.

Monk can disregard Federico Fernandez who is unavailable due to calf concerns, otherwise the long-time Swans associate is helped by having a full strength team at his disposal.
