A joke was going round twitter Tuesday night that one team should be disgraced about the way they played against such a small team, how on earth did Bradford concede against Villa? Villa fans have not had much to laugh about in recent weeks and Southampton at home is not an easy game either. The best bet is to take the 13/8 (Coral) are offering on the Saints to score 2+ goals as Villa have conceded at least two goals in each of their last four Premier League games and conceded three against Bradford in the League Cup.

Everton against Swansea should be a pleasing game for the neutral and goals should be in order. It is now 18 games in all competitions for Everton where both teams have scored and the 4/5 (general) on both teams to score here looks the way to play this game.

Fulham against Wigan looks a tough game to call as both sides can be very hit and miss. Quotes of 21/20 (william hill) on the home side do not appeal as Fulham have won just one of their last seven at home in all competitions. Try a punt instead on Bryan Ruiz at 9/4 (Blue Sq/888 Sport) in the anytime scorer market which is far too big on a player playing so far forward and against a weak Wigan defence.

It has not been a good start to the year for Newcastle, losing Dembe Ba to Chelsea, a cup loss to Brighton and now rumours that captain Fabricio Coloccini has asked to return to Argentina and I can not be siding with them at 5/2 (Blue Sq/888 Sport) as they have lost nine of their last 11 in the league. No team have scored more headed goals than Norwich in the top flight this season while no side have conceded more than Newcastle. Take Sebastien Bassong and Michael Turner at 33/1 (general) in the first scorer market and 12/1 (william hill for both, Skybet for Turner also) in the anytime scorer market.

Reading and West Brom looks a difficult one to call as Reading do not have that bad a record at the Madejski in recent games with just two defeats from their last eight at home (these coming to Man Utd and Arsenal). Under 2.5 goals looks the way to play as bookmakers have become too caught up in the high scoring games the Royals have played against the big teams. If you take out those games three of the last four Reading home games in the league have seen two 0-0 draws and one 1-0 victory. Take the 20/19 (pinnacle) on under 2.5 goals.

After recent losses to Swansea and QPR the pressure is back on Rafa Benitez and an away visit to Stoke is probably not was needed. You have to go back to February 4th for the last time Stoke lost a home game. Stoke at 57/17 (pinnacle) and the draw at 5/2 (general) might not be the worst bets. When Chelsea are hot they are very hot so I might leave that and instead recommend a bet on Dembe Ba to score anytime at 8/5 (BetVictor) which is remarkable as some firms have him as short as 10/11. Ba has netted four in his last four v Stoke, grabbed two in the FA Cup last weekend and looked dangerous in limited time against Swansea.

Sunderland v West Ham looks another difficult game from a betting point of view with the recommendation a small wager on Kevin Nolan at 14/5 (sportingbet) to score anytime if he features. No player will be more up for this game than the former Newcastle captain.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Dembe Ba to score anytime v Stoke, 8/5 (BetVictor)
SILVER: Southampton to score 2+ goals v Aston Villa, 13/8 (Coral)
BRONZE: Both teams to score Everton v Swansea, 4/5 (general)
