I rarely ''max'' on anything anyway. My form deteriorates to an
unacceptable level on most excercises under fatigue so I simply
terminate the set. That's what Pavel writes about in his book and to be
fair, he has a point.
that's one of the reasons I dislike HIT, it's unsafe for most people to
go to failure: your form has gone down the toilet and lot's of body
english etc is used to complete lifts.
I've always found dogma to be somewhat absurd. Why ''just'' do
bodyweight training, why just do weight training? get the best of both
worlds dammit.

Ok, a bit battered after paintballing yesterday.
2 days ago:
5x5 deadlift
3x10 chinups
2x12 bradford press
2x12 curls
some handstand, planche and lever practice as always
taking a while off everything put gymnastics practice as I feel a bit worn out after a year of everything

Taking time off appears right. Had a trap strain so cannot really do any bilateral work. I was working on my deadlifts before then. I now do high step ups as work (I don't need to hold too much for a good workout).
I think it was the relentless handstand work that shot up my trap...so just taking it a bit easy

Went off to Hong Kong so just did random bodyweight excercise. I was at a hotel gym in HK because of a flight delay so I got a good (though imbalanced workout)
3x10 seated bench press supersetted with 3x10 seated row 4x8 lat pulldowns 4x12 dumbell press 5x1 deadlifts 1x5 squats
All in all, not a bad workout considering I had 3 hours sleep the night before.
I discovered something upon returning to my usual volume (4x6 instead of 5x5 now though) and tha'ts that my fingers are really, really weak

Hong Kong was really, really good. It was basically, sit around with family, eat, eat and did I mention eat some more? Of course I went around to shop for electronics and whatnot. I'm quite sad I didn't get a picture of some of Hong Kong U's orientation groups...it was quite hilarious

Hong Kong University has new students every year, who require orientation, or getting used to the place and building ''team spirit'' Which involves prancing around to incomprehensible chants and bad renditions of pop songs

Broken bench press PR a triple on 80kg (NB it's a machine, sigh but what can you do? no spotter)
Then got severely crapped up in an endurance circuit (sigh, learn not to push so hard next time.)

Been doing pretty much only bodyweight excercises for the past few months. I've got a grand total of a 30second handstand, 1 handstand pushup, 2 pistols on both legs with a 5kg plate in front (can only do one with my right leg bw only) and my 1 arm 1 legs are much more stable.
Started doing a bit of BJJ relatively informally. very, very tiring
