Adding an hour to my daily commute, very frustrating to say the least. I understand that roads require maintenance but why have I never seen anyone doing any work? In fact I haven't seen anyone on the motorway at all; just broken down cars. You would think with the importance of this transport route into London and to the south east economy (and, indeed, national economy) the highways authority would be working around the clock to complete this work. They do this in other countries (eg. Germany) so why not here? Oh, and don't bother with the A23/A22 - they are just as congested as commuters try to avoid the traffic.

Just to add to everyone else's anger, I am completely furious. I really sympathise with the person whose clutch was broken. It is a complete joke, and has added an hour on to my journey each way every day. 2 hours a day, 10 hours a week stolen from me and I have yet to see any work taking place. Why can't this be done at night?

M23 roadworks is causing so much disruption,it has added 1 hour to my already 45 minute journey to & from work. I have been forced to work from home as a result. Now starting to cost me money.

Total joke closing this stretch to 2 lanes during rush hour when there is NO work being carried out

50 MPH average is shown on the graph above. The actual figure would be about 1 MPH for the first few miles coming south from the M25. It's hideous. Alternative routes are just as bad because people are desperately seeking alternatives. It is no surprise that I didn't see any hint of work being done.

This traffic is a tota nightmare! Due to me sitting in traffic for almost two hours trying to get to Crawley, my car has now broken down! My clutch is gone- who will have to foot the bill for the repair now???? I'm sure the council can do something to ease the traffic at peak times. Silly to close off the lanes when no work is taking place during these times! arggh! Posted by a very angry motorist
