Barbary Coast

The online slot game known as “Barbary Coast” was developed by Betsoft Gaming as part of their Slots-3 Series of 3D video bonus slots. The game features a 5-reel, 30-payline format with a swashbuckling theme. It also has an array of five different Bonus Features to add a little extra suspense to every spin.

The reels of Barbary Coast are set upon a pirate ship, with a gunnery rail across the top of the screen and most of the key controls located at the bottom of the screen. The coin denomination for the game can be selected by clicking directly on the “Choose Coin” indicator in the lower left corner, from €0.05 to €1.00. Directly below the middle three reels are three barrels marked “Bet Per Line,” “Select Lines” and “Spin.” There is also a cannon marked “Max Bet Spin.” By clicking directly on the controls, it is possible to set the total Stake from 1 to 5 coins per line on 1~30 paylines up to a maximum of €150.

Once the Stake has been set, clicking on Spin will set the reels in motion. Lively “high seas” music accompanies the spins, and for most of the winning combinations, there is animation along with sound effects. The “Sound” can be turned on or off by using the toggle at the top left corner of the display.

The symbols appearing on Barbary Coast are the types of items that might be found at sea on a pirate ship. They include Cannons, Maps, Compasses, Pistols, Gold Coins, Treasure Chests, the Skull & Crossbones and a Damsel. These symbols pay line multipliers from 15X to 300X whenever three or more match up on an active payline. Note that there is no wild symbol in this game.

Whenever three or more Parrot icons appear on any active payline, the Parrot Free Spins Mode is activated. Captain Sawyer`s Parrot will fly onto the screen and spin the reels five times for free. All winnings during free spins are added to the winnings from the triggering spin. Note that no other features can be won during free spins mode.

The Cannon Wild Reel Bonus is activated whenever the Cannon icon appears in the centre position of the third reel. The entire third reel will become wild, making winning combinations much easier to obtain. What’s more, the stacked wild holds over to the following spin, too.

A third special feature on Barbary Coast is the Captain Ben Sawyer Click Me Bonus. It is triggered any time three or more Captain Sawyer icons appear on any active payline. The symbols will change into “Pick me” symbols. Click on each icon in any order to collect Instant Bonus Credits as Captain Sawyer swings across the screen revealing the loot that was hidden behind each one.

To access the game’s Swordfight Bonus Round, three or more Captain Blackbeard icons must appear on any active payline. Evil Blackbeard has stolen away Captain Benjamin Sawyer’s beloved Damsel and holds her captive on his ship. The player must choose three types of sword fighting moves to attack Blackbeard and save the day. After selecting the three moves, click on “Fight” to see the battle unfold. Bonus credits are awarded after each attack is made and they accumulate to be awarded at the end of the round.

The fifth special feature is the Grog Challenge Bonus Round. Whenever three or more Dockworker icons show up on any active payline, the drinking match begins. The surly Dockworker asks the player to call a coin flip, heads or tails. If the player is correct, the worker must finish his drink. If the selection is incorrect, the player must drink. Red bars at the top of the screen show how drunk the player and the worker are. But be careful - too many drinks and you will become too drunk and pass out. The game ends when someone passes out. Bonus credits are earned by making the Dockworker drink.
