Over the Rainbow

Realistic Games Ltd.’s line-up of hyper-realistic looking “Real 2 Reel” slot games gains yet another addition in “Over the Rainbow,” featuring a 3-reel, single-payline format reminiscent of classic slot machines. Like Pentagram, Double Bubble and other games in this series, Over the Rainbow can be played in either “Full Cabinet View” mode, surrounded by other slot machines just like on a real casino floor, or in “Close-up” mode so that only the view of the reels can be seen on the screen.

The Over the Rainbow game console has an authentic 3-D look. Controls are found on a ledge-like panel below the reels, glowing neon lights frame the console and a tombstone-shaped marquee appears at the top, where the payout table can be seen. In the background is a tranquil lake backed by verdant hills and a colourful rainbow arches above the landscape, reflected in the lake.

The game begins with the player selecting an amount for wagering. This is accomplished by using the up/down arrows next to the “Bet” indicator in the middle of the control panel. Available wagers range from €0.25 to €100.00. There is only the one payline, which is horizontal and right in the middle of the reels, so the maximum possible stake is €100.

The basic symbols on the reels are traditional slot icons, starting with Cherries. They pay line multipliers of 2X, 4X or 10X when 1, 2 or 3 of them appear anywhere on the payline. All other symbols require three matches for a payout. Getting three of the Single Bar pays 10X, the Double Bar is worth 30X and the Triple Bar yields 40X. A combination of three mixed Bars in any order wins 4X.

There are also two more symbols on the reels. The highest ranking of them all is the Gold Seven. It is worth 200X when three come up on the payline. The other symbol is the Pot of Gold. It is wild and matches any other symbol on the win line. A winning combination containing one Pot of Gold is worth double the usual payout. A line win containing two Pot of Gold symbols is worth quadruple the usual value. And catching three Pot of Gold symbols on the payline gains a multiplier of 2000X.

Apart from fine audio and graphics, Over the Rainbow has a state-of-the-art Autoplay option. The access button is on the right side of the control panel next to the “Start” button. Clicking on it opens an Autoplay screen with numerous options, including settings for the number of auto spins from 1 to 500, a stop amount for jackpots, a “Fast Bank” function on/off, and an option to stop Autoplay manually at any time by simply clicking on “Stop.”

Once the settings have been chosen, Autoplay is put into action by clicking on “Begin.” While Autoplay is functioning, all other control buttons go dark and cannot be used. During slot play, following any successful wagers, indicators for Paid, Win and Bet show their respective amounts below reels one, two and three, respectively. There is no animation of winning symbols, but lively music plays as each payout is awarded and the game “Balance” increases in the upper right corner of the screen.
