The X Factor Jackpot

Since its launch in 2004, the “X Factor” has become one of the most popular music competitions on television. It was created by British producer Simon Cowell and quickly spread from the United Kingdom to other countries, including Australia and the United States. The show matches aspiring pop singers against one another in an effort to demonstrate who has that indefinable “something” that marks a true star—The X Factor.

Now on the Internet, Ash Gaming has taken the competition to a new level with the “X Factor Jackpot,” a 5-reel, 20-payline slot game with multiple bonus features and a three-tiered progressive jackpot (Bronze, Silver and Gold) in the Live Show Bonus Round. The game can readily be found in major online casinos, including Bet365.

To begin the game, select a stake per line from €0.01 to €5.00 below the fourth reel and the number of paylines from 1 to 20 beneath the second reel. The maximum bet is €100. Clicking on the green “Play” button below the fifth reel will set the game in motion. Alternatively, the blue “Auto Play” button beneath the fifth reel can be used to set the number of automatic spins from 5 to 25.

The basic icons appearing on the reels are the standard cards symbols, Tens through Aces. Catching three or more of them in a match on an active payline will award a line bet multiplier from 4X to 100X. Higher payouts are made for catching three or more Singing Groups, Male Singers or Female Singers in a row, from 30X to 1500X. The wild symbol on the reels is the X Factor Logo. It substitutes for all of the above symbols and pays 100X, 1000X or 10000X when 3, 4 or 5 appear on a payline from left to right.

Three separate Bonus Features are available on the X Factor Jackpot. The Microphone “Pick Me” Bonus is triggered anytime the Microphone symbol appears on the middle reel in any position. The player then chooses one of three Microphone icons to reveal an X Factor star and a cash prize.

The Free Spins Bonus is activated whenever all three CD scatter symbols appear on reels 2, 4 and 5 in any position. Each CD will reveal a number of free spins and all three are added together to form the Total Free Spins awarded. During the Free Spins mode, “Sticky Wilds” will appear at random on the reels and remain fixed in place throughout. Free Spins cannot be retriggered, nor are other Bonus Features available during the Free Spins mode.

The Live Show Bonus Round is accessed whenever three “Bonus” symbols appear on reels 1, 3 and 5. The player has the opportunity to participate in up to “10 weeks” of competition. Each week a contestant from a previous series of the X Factor is chosen to receive four votes. Each “Yes” vote is worth a cash prize, and three or more Yes votes will allow progress to the next round. Should a deadlock occur, the public votes to break the tie. The bonus ends when only one or zero Yes votes are received.

As a special function of the Live Show Bonus, phone symbols may appear at the end of each round. Collecting four phone symbols awards the Bronze progressive jackpot. Five phone symbols will win the Silver jackpot and six of them awards the Gold. Only the highest jackpot won is paid.

As might be expected, high energy music accompanies various aspects of the game, along with numerous audio effects. To turn the “Sound” on or off, use the toggle appearing in the pull-down menu under the “Options” tab at the very top of the screen.
