The vocalist known as Ozzy Osborne rose to prominence in the 1970s as the lead singer of the pioneering English heavy metal band Black Sabbath. He is the father of six children, including three—Aimee, Kelly and Jack—with his business manager, Sharon, whom he married in 1982. In 2002, the American cable broadcasting network MTV contracted with the Osbournes to create a reality television programme featuring the family’s domestic life.

The show premiered in March and rapidly became the most-viewed series ever on MTV. During its first season, the show also won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Programme. Jack and Kelly were featured prominently along with Sharon, Ozzy and their dog Mini. Aimee refused to participate. The final episode of the series aired in March of 2005, but that was not quite the end of The Osbournes. In 2009, the family reunited to debut a new variety show on the Fox television network called “Osbournes Reloaded.”

In the meantime, software developer Microgaming entered into a unique partnership with Ozzy and crew to create the The Osbournes video slot. The five-reel, 20-payline game was released in 2007 to rave reviews. Of particular interest is its employment of two separate scatter symbols,

The Osbournes slots feature familiar items taken straight from the MTV series, including the Microphone, Family Portrait, Easy Chair, Guitar and Emmy Award symbols. Matching three of these on an active payline wins from 5X to 300X. Higher awards are given for catching two of more illustrated family members lined up—Jack, Kelly, Sharon or Ozzy—worth from 2X to 5,000X. The highest single payline prize is 15,000X for five Osbourne Logos. The Logos are wild and substitute for any symbol except the scatters.

Credit denominations of €0.01 to €0.50 are available. The +/- toggles below reel one can be used to adjust the credit value. Play from 1 to 20 paylines, betting up to 10 credits per line for a maximum bet of 200 credits or €100. To start the game, click “Spin” or instantly halt the reels by clicking “Stop.” Winnings appear in the “Win” counter beneath reel five. The current Coins balance shows in the lower left corner. Autoplay can be accessed in the Expert mode.

The first of the two scattered symbols is the Door Knocker. It is worth are worth 2X, 10X or 100X when showing up on 3, 4 or 5 reels. The second scatter symbol is Mini, the dog. She pays 2X, 3X, 10X or 50X when appearing up on 2, 3, 4 or 5 reels. Both scatters also launch bonus rounds when three or more appear.

To access the pick-a-box Knock Knock Bonus, the 3+ triggering Knocker symbols must align left to right starting on the first reel. Selecting a single Knocker will reveal a Mystery Multiplier of from 2X to 5X applied to the total win. The top prize is 20,000 credits.

In Mini’s Free Spin Trail Bonus, the player is awarded ten free spins with a 2X multiplier. Although the bonus cannot be re-triggered, there is a unique way to extend the free games as Mini appears at the top of the screen. Each time one or more Mini symbols appears during the free spins, Mini moves the corresponding number of steps along the trail. Whenever a family member is reached, a random bonus is awarded along with ten extra free spins. Reaching Ozzy yields the biggest random bonus and the free spins end. The maximum win in this game is 300,000 credits.

One additional feature is activated completely at random. It is called the “grab a Gift Bonus” and it can occur at any time, awarding up to 6,000 credits. Gift boxes move across the screen and clicking the Stop button will reveal a multiplier reward. Jack’s Gift is worth from 6X to 15X, Kelly’s is worth 4X to 20X and Sharon’s is worth 3X to 25X. Ozzy’s Gift is the biggest of them all, worth 2X to 30X.
