League 1

There`s a basement battle happening in League One tonight as Coventry host Leyton Orient with both clubs looking to pull away from the relegation places. Whilst the home side currently sit in 17th position, a full four above the drop zone, they are only three points clear of being stuck in the bottom four places. A victory for the Sky Blues would see them move six clear, the club able to usurp both Port Vale and Walsall in the process. Contrarily a defeat would see Tony Mowbray`s men liable to slip into the drop zone should other results go against them when the rest of the league`s sides meet on Friday.

Orient currently occupy one of the four relegation positions but find themselves just a point from safety. A win, then, would see the London side move as high as 18th with Notts County joining Crawley, Colchester and Yeovil in the bottom four. A defeat, on the other hand, could see the team of Fabio Liverani cut adrift following the main batch of League One matches being contested on Friday.

The two sides last met in the reverse fixture at Brisbane Road back in November, Coventry being under the management of former boss Steven Pressley and Orient being guided by their former head coach Mauro Milanese. The game ended 2-2.

Despite the high scoring nature of the match only one goal was scored in the first 45. That came from the visitors and was netted by Jim O`Brien. The O`s levelled up just 10 minutes after the restart through Josh Cuthbert before turning the game on its head and taking the lead through Jay Simpson with 20 minutes remaining. Orient looked like the likely match winners though O`Brien managed to secure his second of the encounter in the dying embers of the tie.

Betvictor have the best price of 16/1 on tonight`s match ending 2-2 once again with both teams to score being available at a price of 4/5 at betfred. Captain O`Brien is 50/1 to score at least two goals against Orient once again with Betvictor`s 17/1 saying that the Sky Blues will be leading at half time, only for the match to be tied at the end of 90 minutes.

Indeed it is the visitors who are the favourites to take all three points from the night`s League One clash. Orient can be backed at the best price of 17/10 at both bet365 and boylesports. In opposition, most bookmakers have installed Coventry at a price of 21/5 with a draw being up for grabs at 9/5 at a selection of bookies (bet365, Betvictor, boylesports, william hill).

Liverani`s team`s favouritism could be due to the fact that they have picked up seven points from their last four games, scoring three goals on two occasions. Skybet`s 8/1 says that the side will score exactly three goals against Coventry tonight.

In the club`s last five games away from home, however, Orient picked up six points. They have neither picked up a point nor scored in their last two on the road. As a result, a Coventry win to nil is up for grabs at 4/1 at Coral.

Mowbray`s men have hit the back of the net in all of their last six matches, picking up 10 points from these games. At home, the Midlands side are without a win in three.

Their top scorer from this high scoring run of games, however, is Frank Nouble who has contributed three in their last six encounters. The former West Ham star is available at 12/5 (bet365, Betvictor) to hit the back of the net at any time.
