After an intense first week of action at Wimbledon with some shock results and a number of players withdrawing through injury it is good to have a rest day and a chance to look and see how the markets are shaping up.

Our pre-tournament selection Andy Murray could not have asked for a better first week. In terms of his own game he looked impressive easing through all three matches in straight sets and showing no ill effects from injury. In terms of the draw it all opened up for him with Federer, Nadal and Tsonga all suffering shock exits while Cilic was forced to withdraw through injury. The Scot will never have a better chance to win Wimbledon and a fourth round clash with Mikhail Youhzny will hold no fear. Victory over the Russian will put him into a quarter-final with Fernando Verdasco or Kenny De Schepper. Murray can be backed at 6/4 (BWIN/888 SPORT/betway) to claim his first Wimbledon title.

His likely opponent will be Novak Djokovic who has also been in excellent form winning all three matches so far without dropping a set. The Serb will face Tommy Haas next though an interesting thing to note is that the German has won both the previous meetings between the pair on grass. Haas is 8/1 (boylesports) to spring the fourth round shock. The winner of that match will then go to face the victor in the battle between Bernard Tomic and Tomas Berdych.

Those wanting to back Djokovic for the title can get evens (SKYBET/CORAL/william hill) while a Djokovic/Murray final is a short priced 2/5 (GENERAL).

Joint third favourite at 25/1 (BWIN) is Jerzy Janowicz who is in the quarter of the draw left wide open by the exits of Federer and Nadal. The Pole has been in excellent form and has to be worth a little interest. He should be able to get through a fourth round match with Jurgen Melzer before a quarter-final with either Lukasz Kubot or Adrian Mannarino. A semi-final with Murray will be difficult though not impossible so I would recommend a little interest. You can take him to make the final at 6/1 (STAN JAMES/BWIN) or 20/1 (GENERAL) EW. The remaining quarter is a wide open battle and is likely to come down to Juan Martin Del Potro who is also 25/1 (BWIN) to win the tournament and David Ferrer who is a 44/1 (BWIN) chance. Ivan Dodig was our tip to come through this quarter and although the 66/1 we recommended has long gone he still represents value at 16/1 (boylesports). He faces a fourth round match with David Ferrer who has not been at his best so far and looks beatable. If he can get past this then a last eight match with Juan Martin Del Potro or Andreas Seppi awaits both of whom are not great grass players.

In terms of betting on the fourth round matches the pick of the bets could be in backing Bernard Tomic against Tomas Berdych in the handicap market. ladbrokes are offering evens with Tomic +4.5 with the same bet as short as 4/6 (paddy Power). The Australian has looked in good form so far and can take Berdych to the wire.

BEST OF THE BETS

GOLD: Bernard Tomic +4.5 on handicap v Tomas Berdych, evens (ladbrokes)
SILVER: Jerzy Janowicz EW to win Wimbledon, 20/1 (GENERAL)
BRONZE: Ivan Dodig to win the second quarter, 16/1 (BOYLESPORTS)
